My Poker Tracker 2 was acting up - real slow and half the hands were not loading up correctly - so I checked for an update and downloaded v2.17. That turned out to have a virus (Win32 Trojan) or one was added to it since the download and my anti-virus software killed the PT.exe file so now I'm without it altogether. PT2 is no longer supported but I see PT3 is now available with a HUD included and I'm thinking of getting it to replace my lost version.

Does anyone have experience with the new PT3? What are your comments and observations if any? Also, will the old PT handhistories load up on the new PT3? I'd sure hate to lose the data and have to start all over again - especially the cash game info.

Ive been using the PT3 trial. It works well, though I havent done that much with it, eg I havent moved over my old hand histories yet. also I havent modified the HUD, but I assume that works the same as it did as PokerAce.

Simo says PokerEV is better, but it appears to require you to have PT to start with, and I cant tell if thats PT2 or PT3, nor do I see anything on the website that makes me think its any better.

PEV needs a PT2 database, but the future versions will have their own hand importing. the "future version" of this thing is in developement for quite i time now though.

Yeah, from what I can tell PokerEV requires PT2 and does not work with PT3. But it looks like the only bonus in PEV over PT3 is the graphing of Sklansky Bucks - which is cool. But PT3 is awesome imo. And the hud is much cleaner then PAHUD. Database is much faster - even if you converted the PT2 to the SQL database which I did.

I've noticed in the purchase offer for PT3 that if you order now they will give your PT2 and Poker Ace HUD for free. My question is what the hell would I want PT2 and PAHUD if I'm getting PT3??

I was also of getting my PT2 repaired but as I said before they no longer support it which makes the offer of a free PT2 kind of dumb..
