Two hands below are from one session. I get 'em rolled up in both hands.

These are my rolled up threes and I decide to raise them right away. I'm a raising machine for a couple of streets. Then I stop dead in my tracks and call it down. What do you think?

The hand below is about 30 minutes earlier in the same session. Seat 7 had been a calling station until this hand, except for the hand where he checked his full house on 6th and 7th, on that hand he was a checking station, I guess. From Seat 4's play throughout the session, I had a really strong feeling he had burried aces here.

Based on the play to this point, I figured I could just bring it in for the minimum, let it get razed by someone else and then reraise right there on 3rd street. That's what happened. What do you think of that? What do you think of the rest? Do I keep raising longer than I should or do I stop raising too soon?

I don't know a lot about stud but I was reading a strat section in a magazine that suggested slowplaying 222,333,444,555 is OK because raises/re-raises kind of telegraph your hand to a good player.

Both hands seem well played to me. You charge the max on every street when you are ahead and to charge the draws, then on late streets when you can no longer raise for value you simply showdown. I think you played them both very well.

I'm guessing you won the first hand vs. something like aces up but lost the second vs. a rivered BS flush?

If you want to comment on the hand without the results, that would be great. But the results are below.

It's been a week and 150 people have looked at this and only two have responded. Maybe most people figured "Who cares? He got good hands and won with them."

I appreaciate the two posts.

I thought I was playing them ok. I don't have a lot of experience, so I thought maybe I had done some things wrong. Like maybe a good player with my 777 hand would be more concerned than I was about a raising war when I was clearly concerned and trying to check it down on the last couple of streets. The guy I figured for burried Aces just wouldn't stop raising.

On the 333 hand. I had a bad feeling when his Ace hit on 4th since he reraised on 3rd. There too I suspected burried aces. My 333 never improved and I checked it down but couldn't let it go.

And the results are. . . .

I lost 80% of my stack on these two hands.

The 777 was just a cooler because the guy with the J in the door had rolled up Jacks. Damn. AND, as I suspected, the other guy had burried aces. I never saw the jacks coming. By 7Th I figured I must be beat since I didn't improve but I had no idea how. If the raises are getting out of control like they are here, does a good player get away from rolled up middies that don't improve?

ALSO as I had said, the JJJ guy had been a calling station until here. Very passive. Now he's raising. Does a player with more experience trust that and figures he's beat and gets out considering the third guy's jamming?

The 333 hand bothers me a little bit more. My heart sank when that ace hit on 4th, but I couldn't get away from the hand. I obv check it down. Of course, two of the three results are bad for me: I improve and win; or we both improve and I lose; or neither of us improves and I lose. Luckily there's no third guy in there jamming. I lost signicantly less on this hand. It happened second. I must be getting better. unsure.gif

You've been a member for a while, but I see you haven't posted a lot. Maybe time to review the posting guidelines, like converting and one hand per thread. And BBFIDTS
