I feel that this place is as good as any to start up this thread. This will basically be a place where I hope FCPers will post where/when they will be in Atlantic City if they are interested in meeting up with other FCPers, post trip reports/cardroom reviews, or seeing if anyone wants to split a room. Going to be up there this weekend, arriving sometime mid-Saturday afternoon / early Saturday evening (anywhere from 4-6 PM). Not sure where I will be playing at, as I will likely be spending most of the time drinking with one of my friends who will be in town. Sunday however, I will be at the Borgata for essentially the entire afternoon and into the evening. Doubt I will be staying the night in town Sunday, but crazier things have happened. I will be playing 2/5 NL unless the games are exceptionally terrible, but its the weekend at the Borgata so I am sure I'll find a table to my liking. Probably be rocking a black Sevendust hat and a long sleeve collared shirt (its cold in there 24/7/365). If I'm not wearing my Sevendust hat, here's a picture:

Picture from the Borgata B Bar

It was taken at the B Bar at the Borgata maybe 6 months ago, I might even wear that collared shirt. Feel free to say hello. My first name is Chris.

I should be taking several more trips to AC this month due to my friends and I having a collection of free rooms/room discounts that we need to use up by the end of the month, I will post dates as I have them.
Deepblu
I'm new here, but I'll help you get this started. I'll be at Caesar's this afternoon playing in the 3 PM tournament. I'll be wearing a Villanova shirt.

Appreciate the help. Hopefully you fared well in the tournament. Might be up in Atlantic City later this week, possibly this weekend, but nothing set in stone yet.

I'm at the Borgata semi-frequently...around 2X month. Most recently I was there last Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday night. I wear comfortable clothes.
ReraiseAllIn
Looking like I will be in AC during the middle of next week (Tuesday & Wednesday, possibly Thursday too). No decisions made as to where I will play, though the Borgata is always a good bet. My friend mentioned to me that he thought Harrah's opened a new poker room recently, can anyone confirm this?

Haven't been there in awhile so it's entirely possible. The new Showboat poker room is pretty nice but the game selection is paltry.
Deepblu
I've heard Harrah's has upgraded their poker room somewhat recently, but I haven't been by to check it out.

I might be going down on Tuesday or Wednesday. Likely the Borgata this time.
ReraiseAllIn
Doesn't look like I will be making it up there until Thursday at the earliest, good luck to you.
7s7c
I'll most likely be in AC this Friday with the fiance if anyone is going to be around.

i will be at the borgota the weekend of august 9th. im not sure how much poker time ill have as im there to see the stone temple pilots play, but if anybody wants to meet up and play let me know.

last time i was there they had a 2/5 plo game running that was lots of fun. ill either be shortstacking that or playing some omaha8.
ReraiseAllIn
Was going to go up today, pushing the trip until tomorrow. Most likely will be at the Borgata.
Poppy_Hillis
I'll be in AC the weekend of the 8th. I'm visiting a friend in NJ the week prior and figured I'd go down there. Don't know anyone there, just going to play pretty much all weekend, but if anybody else is in the same boat and wants to split a room, I'm down.
7s7c
I'll most likely be in A/C on Friday the 8th during the day through early evening depending on what time I can get myself out of bed to go play.
Poppy_Hillis
I'll probably be there by the afternoon on Friday playing either 1/2 or 2/5 NL at Borgata. Most likely be wearing a Chicago Bears visor or Notre Dame hat if you care to say hello.

Cool. If I'm there with my friends I will be playing 1/2NL and having a lot of fun isolating them. If I am there by myself I will either be playing 2/5NL or 5/10NL and not having as much fun. Nike Poker hat and since it's always cold as shit in there, a grey hooded sweatshirt most likely.

How did the game at The Showboat go?

I moved to a really good table shortly after you left and got up 700 when my friends of friends showed up....Not hot. At all. Very disappointing also that I said I would go out with them and had to leave the table.

Hilarious that your worst beat came away from the table apparently. We played at the Showboat for a short bit but the game ended up being extremely nitty, so I'm thinking my buddy lied earlier to me probably because he was bored. Then he got a text from another friend of ours that we should come by the Taj rather quickly to sit 10/20 stud with him which I did while my other buddy railed us. That worked out quite well for all parties and was easily the best situation of the night. I got home around 2am or so and crashed.

Borgata was fun(ny). The fat guy to my right smooth calling the river vs an obv. flush with a boat. How on earth you got action on that AQhh hand right before I left with that board was beyond me. I never get that action at that limit despite my best efforts early to showdown crap starting hands, get caught bluffing at a few extremely small pots and making sure the spectacle I make at that pot was enough for people to notice and congratulate the $20 winner for making a great call. They still later on always seem to have ace high when I flop a set and are never heroes. That table was so tight I was falling asleep. Luckily the Showboat has awesome coffee. gg.

Yea, and then he said how he knew the guy had a flush and what a good call it was. Puzzling. Wish I didn't pay him off when he hit that straight with the 45.

Anyone have any clue on how many FCPers actually frequent AC on a semi-regular basis? Besides the people in this thread and Tremomey? Wouldn't mind arranging it, though it'll have it wait until after my move at the end of the month, and just trying to get an idea how much work it would be.

Indeed. There was also a hand you had vs the fat guy and the Asian next to me was asking me my thoughts during the hand and I mumbled "I dunno but that kid seems like a solid player" to which the Asian replied so is he (pointing to the fat guy). I chuckled.

That straight hand where you busted that guy who had 2 pair was hilarious as I knew my aces up had him crushed but it also was suxor that it made yr hand. Glad you got action at least from him though.

Not sure exactly but I'm pretty sure there are a decent amount of New Yorkers abound that are prolly in A/C at a reasonable rate.

Yeah I noticed both of those series coming up, though at this point I'm not sure if I am going to be playing in which/any of the events. Played in two of the Borgata Summer Open's events, but I need to see what my financial situation will be after the move (see how much money I drop on furniture, other apartment supplies, etc.).
7s7c
FWIW I'll be at Borgata on Saturday most likely.

where are people staying when they go?

if we found enough people we could all split the rent on a two bedroom apartment and have a crash pad down there for poker trips. i might do this for as much as $400 a month.

I'm right near Rutgers so it's not a terrible trip traffic permitting. Can you take the train from Penn to the AC station right near the new Conv. Center? If not, they should remedy that, I imagine lots of NYers would choose that option. I can walk to the New Brunswick station and that makes NYC trips a breeze. They should return the favor.

I may be wrong, but I think bus is the way to get there from NYC. I feverishly tried to find the train to AC, but all I could get was the bus from the Port Authority.

I will likely be playing cash games there during those weekends, since I expect the Taj will be the place to be to play with the crowd from the USPC, and those buy-ins are too steep for me at the moment. I am moving up there the 13th, so I should be pretty well settled by the following weekend when you play that first event. Once it is closer to that weekend we can figure out a meeting and I will come by a sweat you occassionally while you are playing / you can stop by the cash table I am at and tell me how things are going during your breaks.
7s7c
Okee Dokee. I am driving down with a buddy of mine who will be doing the same (playing cash games). Last year I stayed there a few nights as I figured it would help so I wasn't tired from driving down for an 11am start time. That didn't seem to work as I tended to wake up late and was even drowsier so I'm going with the early wake up and lots of coffee this year. gogogogogo.
ReraiseAllIn
Mountain Dew Amp FTW. Especially Overdrive (the cherry flavor), its amazing. Lets try not to get stabbed over a dispute at the card table outside the Taj, like that incident earlier this year. Was playing at the Borgata one afternoon when rumors started circulating table to table that somebody had been stabbed outside the Taj. Got home the next day and found out it was true.

LOL (sort of). I was playing at the Borgata when someone had mentioned that as well. I think it was the day after though, one of the dealers alluded to it. Right after that I think I saw the auto shuffler display "dealing cooler to seat 4 ha ha ha"

Favorite seat. Bobby Orr.

I always joke with my buddy that those auto shufflers always print out what they are about to deal when the dealer pushes that button. You just can't see the text. "Dealing AA vs KK, ha ha ha", "Dealing Set over Set, ha ha ha", etc. They are alive IMO. I always try to be nice to the autoshuffler.

More of a seat 1 or 2 person myself. I agree, treat the autoshufflers with care or else they will mess up consistently and slow the pace of them game down even further.

I might head up there on the 8th to play in a couple 500$ events in the Borgata Open... any suggestions on where to stay (cheap but not shitty) looking to spend no more than 120 a night. Thanks.

I need to win the HOSE event now to make up for missing my soon to be brother in law's bachelor party in NYC. Has to have it on the 19th obv. ghey. Could prolly do both but prolly won't feel like it, I'll prolly just play ring if I bust early. gg.

So I am not going to be up there next weekend. I got a phone call yesterday from my new apartment complex in Absecon and they said that the water heater in the apartment above me blew up and it messed up my place I was going to move into today. It isn't going to be ready for another 2 weeks. Needless to say, I am on life *ucking tilt.
