Full Version: Two Ak Hands From Sunday Wu

Hi

Two scenarios:

1. Get AK in LP. Blinds are 1K/2K/200 ante. I have about 45K. I open raise to 5150. BB shoves 90K (lol?). I took about 30 seconds to call.
The question: Is folding ever a consideration against a fairly obvious bully re-raise, which he'd been doing fairly often?

2. Get AK in BB. Folded around to SB, who has me covered. SB shoves.
The question: Fold or call? No specific read on SB.

In both cases my tourney life was on the line...

I shove both - in both scenarios, villain almost never has AA/KK so you're either flipping or dominating a weaker ace.

Folding the second hand would be mind blowingly horrible, you can just never fold AK there.

First one I think is interesting, given his massive overshove I think it's rare for him to have a dominated ace or some KQ junk type stuff, but then again would he really play ace this way? There's always Random Berserko Factor to account for so I think a call is borderline correct in that spot.

In the first one, I used up some time and finally made the call. He turned up AQ, I managed to dodge his kicker and I doubled up.

In the second one, SB turned up 55. I called, missed and was out.

In both cases, I was pleased I made the call...

Second guy definitely has a dominated ace a high % of the time, call.

God I'm too good at this game.
