I'd like opinion on how I played this hand. I had a solid read on the villian as he was playing a wide range of hands by calling and raising with the AK,AQ, etc.

Full Tilt (9 handed) Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9, 9. Hero posts a blind of 20.
3 folds, MP2 raises to 140, 3 folds, Hero (poster) calls, 1 fold.

PF: I decided to flat and see a flop because A: I can more than likely outplay him postflop and B: Any A,K,Q,J I can throw it away.

Flop: 3, 8, 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets 300, Hero raises to 800, MP2 calls.

Post flop: I like to check raise him here as he likely c-bets most flops. With his flat call after a short pause put my read on him in the AK to AJ range, throw in maybe KQ, KJ.

Turn: T (2 players)
Hero ?

Betting or shoving are options, I don't want to check for a possible free card.

Frankly, I'm not overjoyed by your play although it isn't terrible.

You are playing a big pot without knowing really where you stand. I would much more prefer calling on the flop and seeing if he fires again on the turn, trying to keep the pot small. The problem I see is that on the turn, as you say you should probably shove, but with a semi weak hand. I don't know how he plays, but he's gotta be extremely weak if he calls a check-raise that big with AK-AJ,KQ-KJ.

Just to add to Zeatrix post, youre WA/WB, so keep the pot small but look for value. The free cards that can cost you are almost certainly a 5 or 6 outer and checking behind on the turn is unlikely to cost you, and you can make a small bet or call on the river depending on what flops.
