You can't fold your trips here, so what decision are you contemplating?

Folding is not out of the question. I'm thinking he might have a set of 8s. But if I ignore the thought that we might be beat, I dont know if I should just call or raise. If I'm ahead and I shove, he might fold..and I dont really want that. How do we get max value if we are ahead?

Its call or fold imo. Youve shown strength on two streets and he raises in the face of the board pairing. It makes no sense as a semi-bluff because he would have on the flop. In addition to the set of 8s he may have KQ and was cautious with an A flopping and you leading. Raising here doesnt accomplish much other than put a lot more of your stack at risk.
If there wasnt another round of betting I would certainly call, but knowing my stack is likely to be challenged on the river, I fold here.

Fold PF
Never in this type of tourney, esp with my stack size. I can outplay these donks postflop.
results:
I called and called a smallish bet on the river. Decided its worth it to look him up since even if I double him up I still have an above average stack. He had AJ. Totally brainless. Unless I have an underpair either he's beat or we're gonna chop.

I have a hard time believing he would make a large check-raise like that with a turned full house, and I don't think your trips when the only other hand you're worried about is KQ. I couldn't bring myself to fold here.

Think maybe he's got a naked A with a busted flush draw he's trying to get you off the hand with or a better Q...
I think a shove is required here. You can't fold trips on that kind of board, imo. If he has a better Q or AA in da hole, that's life...
