I'm sorry if I'm stepping on anyones toes with this post, I will gladly concede if that is so, but I wrapped up June and didn't think putting my results in the June Goals thread would work.

Well, I wrapped up June. Gonna be busy all day tomorrow so I figured I'd play one more session and the call it a month.

I played full ring the first few days of the month, took a break in the middle, and then played 6-max the rest.

All-in-all, I still suck at poker, as you will be able to tell looking at my stats, and I just don't know what else to do.

Gonna be watchin a lot of vids comin up and hopefully somethin clicks soon. I have tried to make a goal for myself that if I am not showing significant progress by the time I go back to school in August, I am pretty much gonna just call it quits.

With that being said, here are my monthly graph and stats, yea, I know, I suck.

QUOTE
Well, I never used to be one to make and adhere to poker goals, but I'm really working toward becoming a better/successful player.
  • 25-30K hands --- CHECK!
  • At the end of the month, I'd like for that pesky little "Amount Won" column to look like this $$$$ and not ($$$$) --- somehow, God only knows, but, CHECK!!
  • Move up levels --- FAIL!
  • Make AT LEAST Silver Ironman Status. Anything less is purely unacceptable. I'd ideally like to make Iron, but I'm not sure how many days I'll be able to make 200pts. --- CHECK! (Silver)
  • Try to get into 9man sngs more, especially when running poorly at cash. Hopefully 150-200. --- EPIC FAIL! (totally unrealistic)
  • Survive 21st birthday and get into live poker for real. --- SURVIVED! CHECK!

Plus about another $175 in rakeback as well as a $75 bonus for making Bronze last month and Silver this month on FTP.

Still haven't decided on goals for July, gonna figure those out tomorrow hopefully.

I withdrew all of my money from my accounts and deposited $60 on Stars.

I'm going to include the last 2 days of June into July.

For July I want to:

1. Actually play. At least 100 SNGs per week should be attainable.
2. 20% ROI at the micro SNGs should be very easy.
3. Hopefully make the leaderboards for the BotP.
4. Run that $60 up to $500.
5. No MTTs. I just leak money in these and really should stop.

Started playing plo again - want to do that pretty much full time in July. Hope for 20-25k hands. I'm not going to set a monetary goal, however I'm going to set stats goals - play well - stats around 21/15/3. Good positionally aware aggressive poker. If I can do that for a month, the money will take care of itself.

Also going to keep hacking away on my tourney stake - have about 40 more to play - up $500 through the first 10 that I've played.
antistuff
1) try to find a good job
2) if i cant find a good job play lots of poker (and maybe take a crappy part time job)
simo_8ball
This month was stupid. Played next to no hands and ran horribly, but made money.

Allin luck net run line:

Despite running ~14 buyins below allin equity, these are my PT stats (NL50 is all 6max on AP):

I'd just played that one quick session and was about to move up limits when as you can see, there was a little bit of a glitch:

I am going to start mixing 100nl in during July.

edited to include today

Okay, in the June goal thread I just said I want to play. So I achieved all my goals, hooray!

Here is the graph for the month

Goals for July:
  • Play 15k hands
  • Around 12 BB/100 (not sure about this one, but this means moving up limits by the end of the month, and hey, it's $.02)
  • Run well in 4.40's for the challenge (one time!)
  • Continue to dominate the $3 45 man SNG's (this is roll dependant, but if I can do decently in these it really helps)

Meh, we'll see how we go

goals

No specific goals, I have exams and assignments for uni this month that I'll be focusing on.

results

As usually happens when I shouldn't be playing, I played a fair bit and ran very good. I'm playing trackerless at the moment, but I estimate that I played somewhere between 25-30k hands and made about ~$3.6k. Definitely one of my best months. Made Platinum star again.

goals

Going to be busy for the first couple of weeks of this month but I really want to put in some hands and make a big stride towards making Supernova. At the very least must make Platinum star again, but hopefully at least 20k vpp. However not a strict goal, I really want to enjoy my holidays.
ricardob
--> 15k+ hands
--> beat 0.25/0.50
--> keep grinding my way out of micro limits on full ring
Giggidy
-Up aggression a little and analyze some PT stats when I have a better sample
-At the least break even at 10NL 6Max...
-Get more HH's on here and try n get better
-Watch more PokerVT
SCS
Goals for June are to play 15,000+ hands of 50nl 6max at a rate of 6BB/100. First part was a success, played 20,000 hands of 50nl. Unfortunately, I had a bad downstreak and ended down 16 buyins, so second part is an epic fail.

For July -

20,000 hands 50nl 6max
+6ptbb/100 winrate
Final table 1 MTT

I'm stealing parts of this plan because they're so good.

I won't make anywhere near 20k hands (I am going to be away for most of the month), but my goal will be to play for good stats on PLO and NLHE:
NLHE: Target 19/17/2
PLO: Target 23/15/3

If you're going to steal a part of my goal, this is the one I would recommend. I'm not playing "to" the numbers so to speak, but over 20-25k hands they should show up around what I've given as a goal IF I can be disciplined and execute the good positionally aware aggressive game.

June Results:

~$315 in SNGs.
~$10 in tournies.
~$50 in $10NL cash over 7,500 hands.

Never done one of these before, figured it might help my discipline if I set some goals.

July Goals:

Play 5,000 hands of $2NL (6 max) and make $15

Play 1,500-2,000 hands of $2PLO (full ring) and make $20

June Goals:
Go to the beach on the 20th with Lindsey.
GET THE HOUSE THAT I OFFERED ON!!!!

Play 12k hands online.
Win $20k between live 5/10 NL and online heads up.
Play live poker.
Spend quality time with FCPers.

So, things didn't totally work out.

I met my hands goal and I'm actually happy with how things went online to some extent. I had a lot of frustrating matches where horrible people ran like God vs me, but I usually ended up getting most/all of the money back before they left.

I got some hours in (20 to 30 hours) or so at 5/10 between the Rio, Bellagio, Wynn and The Venetian. I really booked only one winning session and that was only possible because I managed to get it AI on the turn with ATss on AK5ssT vs a guy with AK who should never have AK there and I hit a spade on the river. I still played well and made hands this session, but if I didn't suck out in that hand, I would've bustoed the $$ I brought to the casino. So, barring that one hand, I really should've lost every live session I played, mostly due to set up hands. I am usually more critical of my live play than my online play and I think I played better live this month than I played online, yet I lost $6,000 live and won $7400 online. Turn that 6k loss into a 6k win and I even met my money goal for the month wink.gif

FCP people in town were awesome and it was great to see you guys again/meet you finally.

I suck at golf.

The beach was awesome.

I have been waiting 5 weeks to hear back about that house now. I hired a new realtor, looked at houses yesterday and offered on one today that I'd actually like to get more than the one I've been waiting on, so hopefully they'll get back to me sooner and make my life easier.

Here's the month:

July Goals:
20k - 25k hands online
$12,000-$18,000 profit
Close on a mother****in' house ONE TIMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
NoSup4U
Acid just linked me to this thread. My July goal is to play 30K hands, which would be more than 5K more than I've ever played in a month.

Dear July,

One of us is going to get pwned this month, either you or I. Only time will tell which one.

Sincerely,

King1305.
Goals:
35K-40K hands
Show a moderate cash profit and look to move up ASAP
Continue to watch vids/sweat sessions/discuss hands/learn from those much better then I am
Operation Be-like-Bull is now in effect! (Minus the being old part)
Do well in both summer classes I'm taking, tie up some loose ends with other things regarding school, and springboard into August and the Fall Semester feeling good.

potatoman
Well, after starting with $1 from a freeroll cash back in early 2006, I now have over $1,000. smile.gif Took me long enough...

June Results:

1) Money goal - $200-$400
Result: Exceeded goal - made - $640

2) Play 10 more $2.40 sngs, than switch back to $5.5 I'm currently rolled for $11, but moving from $2.40 -$11 might be too steep. Want to make sure my game stays intact. If I play 200 $5.5 and show a reasonable profit, I'll move up to $11 sngs, with extra money just in case.
Result: ITM: 76/150 ($5.50's)
ROI: 31
Profit: $255

Also made like $18 from my last set of 10 $2.40's

Played way too much cash (AP) / WSOP fantasy freerolls(Tilt) to finish off the last 50.

3) Try to play 5-10 rebuy tournaments.

Results: Total tournament profit: $135
Played nine rebuy tournaments, cashed in four, with one third place finish in a $5 rebuy for a $165 profit.
Played one horse tournament, finished fifth - $27.
Played one $16.50 pot limit tournament, cashed for $1.50 profit

Played well at the beginning and end of the month, but during the middle, I was playing terribly.

4) Watch and study Daniel's small ball section and as well as the math section on pokervt. The site amazing. Now that I have it, it's going to be very hard to part with. Hopefully, I'll be making enough at the tables to continue paying for it.

Result: finished the small ball course, but haven't touched the math section yet. Site is still amazing.

Cash Results (need to get poker tracker)
Looks like I made $230 mostly playing $20nl, for 11.5 buyings, which means I'm not running too bad. I think I donked off about 2.5 buyins by paying off huge river bets, which I need to stop doing.

July goals:

1) Play 150-250 sngs and move up to $11 sngs

2) Play as much cash as possible, two tabling if games are good enough

3) Play 10-15 rebuy tournaments ($1-$5) and take one down finally.

4) Finish math section of PokerVT

5) Profit - $600

6) Take a couple shots at satelliting into the $150K tournement on AP. The satellites appear VERY soft.

Good luck guys and girls.

July Goals

- Win $4.40 challenge.

- Play (and I mean this) 15k hands.

- Move up to $100nl fully by the end of the month if not before.

June results:

+$951 from cash games
+$1263 from rakeback/bonus

+$2314 total profit

Hardly played any hands this month (maybe 10-12k) so I am pretty happy with the dollar figure. I'm not really happy with my self-discipline/committment when it comes to poker. I need to start putting more time into improving my game.

July goals:

18k hands
+$2k from cash games
(maybe) take some shots at 200nl 6max
Continue to improve my HU play
Get Cardrunners

Hardly played at all this month, down about $100. Too lazy to break it down site by site.

Goals: Play some poker, try to grind out a few nickels. smile.gif
Pierre-san
First time ever setting a goal.

June was my first month of poker, my 50 dollar deposit was at one moment at 175.. After a couple of rough days i ended up at around 150 dollars. quite happy with that amount.

July goals:
- Get my depositor bonus. (shouldnt be to hard) 430 out of 500 collected.

- Make my 150 into 300. (not including my deposit bonus)

- Try to make some extra money by cashing in the Battle of planets leaderboard.

- Decide which pokersite will be my next to whore myself another depositor bonus.

- And the most important goal is to learn more poker. There are still some mistakes I make at moment, need to minimize those mistakes.
Money022
I believe my June goal was to duplicate last month and hit $2k+ in cash. After having my house flooded, I live in Cedar Rapids, IA, poker went to the way side and I didn't play much. I was able to eek out about $400 before calling it quits. Perhaps I'll get a few hands in this month. My only goal is to get the mold out of my house. F*ck that.

Sry to hear bro, hope everything works out for you and you run good in poker and life for a while (not necessarily in that order).
Wingman008
My goal is simple. Get out of my downswing/play like shit swing.

I don't understand what's wrong with my game. Right now I'm in a 10 b/i downswing at stupid microstake sng's. And I've been tilting in my live play to compound it.

I also deposited 100 on stars for the second time today, and am already down 25. I think I'm playing well, but I am just not getting results.

In conclusion my goals are:

Post more in Tourny Strat

Don't tilt/play live out of my limits

Have good cards hold up for me.

Start making a small profit.

That bein said, I'll probalby be broke in 3 days without having any cashes in the 6 max 3.40's, or the 180man 2.20s I've been playing.

RabidTortuga
June was my first losing month. Ended up down $60, but I was down $180 after the first week, so I'm happy with that. I didn't make my hands goal, but did get in about 8k hans, which is a high for me.

July is going to be a take it easy month. Too many plans for the month with friends to commit to playing too much poker, and I think I need a bit of a breather anyway. It's probably the losing, but I'm not enjoying poker at the moment, and it feels like burnout.

Goals for July: play poker when I feel like it, and have a winning month. Play at least enough to move back up to 1/2 for another shot.

I think the people who are complaining are largely the members that have been with CR for a long time and have already seen most of the old content. To a person who's never been at a CR before, I still think it's better than the rest because it has the biggest libary of videos that cover basicaly everything in great detail. DC and Pokersavvy look really good, but I think CR is probably slightly better value for money because they're been around for longer.
bdc30
Not to get in to a CR >< DC debate, as I'm sure they both have value, but personally I joined DC due to their decision to not include digital rights management on their content, thus allowing me to download it and watch on my dvd player/ipod/laptop while not connected, etc.

How many tables are you playing? If you're playing 8-12 tables, then you're probably fine, but if you're playing any less, you're throwing away money by playing that tight. I think optimal VPIP for PLO is somewhere between 26 and 36 depending on how you play postflop.

As for me, my only real goal is to get some real volume in July. I'd shoot for 40K hands if I wasn't already 4 days into the month with no (online) hands played, but as is I'm going for 35K. I've been killing the games lately, I just need to put in some hours so I can make up for what I lost in Vegas.
