A friend of mine's father once told me a story about his time as a police officer. In the '80s, supposedly a lot of kids were sucking themselves off with vacuum cleaners. This dude claims he once responded to an emergence call where the kid was retarded, and used the spinning brush attachment. That's how I picture your fetish will end.

From what I've read, despite the fact that a high percentage of the movie is without verbal dialogue, it's really good.

The wife is taking the boys to see it Tuesday (a holiday in Canada). I might join them. I enjoy a good kids movie. I still think Cars is my favourite. Shrek too.

This movie wasn't funny at all.. I don't think it was intended to be.. Some parts had it's slap stick humour but for the most part the movie was a serious action adventure movie for kids.
I loved the message in it, it was Pixar's way of giving the adults a reason to enjoy it....
It was a heart-wrenching story, one of the Pixar's best? No, but I was smiling throughout the whole movie.

Excellent movie. I feel like a different person walking out of the theater than I was walking in. I expected a fun movie, and got a great movie that moved me deeply, and made me realize how much I take for granted. Potentially the most important mainstream movie of the year.

No offense: not only can I not trust this because I don't know you, but it's such an outlandish claim that I wouldn't trust it from anyone on here. The only person remotely close, my boyfriend, would almost surely be ****ing with me. I simply cannot give such hyperbole the benefit of the doubt.

I took my kid to see it today, very good. The underlying political commentary kind of irked me though.
It was basically taking a shot at Big Corporations, Saying we are ruining the earth and calling us all fat, dumb and lazy.
But if you ignore all that it was a fun movie.

I saw this movie yesterday and I have to say it was the greatest movie I've ever seen. the direction, the cinematography, the story, all of it was just absolutely superb. never before have I seen a movie that has moved me so much in such a short period of time. I can honestly say I am a completely changed person and will never, ever be the same again. this is the best thing that has ever been put on film.

It didn't change my life but I did enjoy it more than I thought I would. Definitely a must see even if it means you want for the DVD so you don't have to put up with a theatre full of kids.

I'm sorry, but how did everybody like it? I see that it is currently #20 in imdb's top 250 and I cannot see how. Walking out of the movie, I was thinking that it was the worst I've ever seen besides Napoleon Dynamite and Kung Pow. I was expecting to see a good kid's movie, like Monster's Inc. or Finding Nemo, but it was way too 'adult.' It pretty much said Americans (or the world, but I took it to mean Americans) are fat, lazy, and stupid and I do feel stupider having sat through that piece of crap!
Normally, even if I don't like a movie, I feel entertained for an hour and a half (or however long it is) but I couldn't wait to leave the theater and I was not entertained.

I adored Napoleon Dynamite, at the time. I haven't seen it since like '05, but at the time, everyone hated it, and then slowly decided that it was funny, and began quoting it all the time, and completely ruined it for me. Without the surrounding hype or misleading expectations, ND was awesome.

Everybody loved it when it came out and they all told me I had to see it. They quoted it all the time, and it sucks now and it sucked then.

I took my 2 kids ( 5&6 yrs old ) to see it and they loved it. To me it was not one of Pixar's best and I usually love whatever they do. The fact my kids liked it means it hit it's targeted audience. To me the best part was the short movie tyhat Pixar did with the Magician and the rabbit before the feature. My 5 year old laughed out loud at it.

I loved that magician and the rabbit thing. I thought it was hilarious, which is a reason why I was surprised why I hated the movie so much. Normally when I walk into a movie, I am in a neutral mood, but when I walk in happy, I tend to like the movie better. I thought the bunny thing was funny so I was in a happy mood when WALL-E started so I expected to like it better.

Ya ur right about that....not Wall-e > Dark Knight. But that you will be attacked, and you should be.
Apples to Oranges but I think Dark Knight was a better action movie than Wall-e was a kids movie.

Wall-e was awesome. The animation was great, the story was pretty good (a little too much with the omg he's dead no he isn't yes he is blah blah obviously he's not gonna die it's a kids movie). What I thought was really amazing was how they told such a solid story with so little dialog. There is no narrator and the main characters have a vocabulary of about 5 words, but it doesn't get boring or confusing. The 2001 reference was pretty good too since they didn't overdo it too much, and it was funny to see it in a kids movie.

The proof that Wall-e isn't as good as Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc., Aladdin, or the Lion King. I have vivid and wonderful memories about many many sections of each of these movies. I have one about Wall-e now 6 months removed from seeing it, and it's just a general feeling of the wonderful visuals.
Wall-e has just slipped a little on the list for me. It might be just barely in the top 10 now.
