So I hadn't played 2 - 7 before and just thought i'd give it a try last night just playing micro 10c/20c limit on pokerstars. Now I know I am new to the game, but it just seemed like the play was absolutely horrible. I've never seen poker played that badly before. People calling bets with 1 draw left and still drawing 3 cards. Pre-1st draw raising then drawing 3 or saw one person raise and then draw 4 cards. Saw someone stand pat after the first draw and call me all the way down with J9765 ( stood pat after first draw with 87642). I sat down at the table with $3, basically just kind of learned and played starting hands with 3 cards 8 or lower and if i still needed to draw two after the second draw I folded and bet hard into anyone still drawing cards if my hand was decent. Not optimal strategy I'm sure as I am just learning. But the play was so bad that I turned my $3 into $12 in about 60 hands. I can't imagine this is typical at higher limits, but do you find the play in 2-7 to be pretty bad all around?

Most people don't know how to play it, so I assume it is somewhat bad all around.

This isnt necessarily a bad play with two to a number 1, in position as a blind steal/isolation play, is it?

yea.. i don't mean just a raise, i mean re-raising and capping out of position and then drawing 3. Seems like bad play to me.

Raising from the button against the blinds and maybe one limper and drawing 3 isn't horrible. But i watched a guy raise from 1st position, cap it when he got reraised and then draw 3 against an opponent who drew 1. It was bad

people do not know how to play this game. i would speculate that there is more dead money in this game than in any other game online right now.

Great, this is all I need. To get sucked into playing another game going after dead money when I'm trying to break out of a slump.
