Anyone seeing Radiohead this summer?

They are headlining the All Points West festival but there is absolutely noone else playing that I care to see. Might have to break down and go anyway.

Listening to the "Bends" on my Ipod today. Possibly my favorite CD of the last 20 years. Anyone who says "OK Computer" is Radiohead's best is hugely mistaken as far as I am concerned.

Kid A

Amnesiac is right up there too
Mercury69
As much as I fell in love with OK Computer when it came out, i tend to agree with you that Bends is better, if only by a little...It has better "singles" and more mass appeal. OK Computer is great as a "total" album, but doesn't really have any upbeat stuff to pull the melodies out of the depressing alienation the album underlines.

Pretty awesome 1-2 punch, even if they were issued 4 years (or so) apart...
lvpro
I'll be seeing them in August.

Kid A is my favorite of the Radiohead records, though OK Computer, The Bends, and In Rainbows are all close behind. Then Hail To The Thief, Amnesiac, and finally Pablo Honey. Not a huge Pablo Honey fan - I'd throw a number of the EPs in front of it as well, honestly.

What are you trying to say? Just because I don't listen to what you do, I can't have an opinion on music? I don't give a crap what people think about me based on what music I like. Maybe that is the problem with music today. Everyone is listening to what they think everybody likes instead of actually enjoying the music for themselves.

Music everyone else likes? To be a decent music fan, you can't like music other people have heard of. My favorite music is recorded with dog whistles.

why bring hate into the thread? i don't know, something about people liking radiohead being the lowest common denominator out there, and my enjoyment of outing the lowest common denominators. you have absolutely no right to like "whatever music you like" lol. there is good music, and there is bad music, plain and simple. if you don't get that I feel sorry for you.

but by all means, keep listening to the great band "radiohead." haha.

QFT. I've had it up to my cunt with this Relativism bollocks. There's a reason there are still radio stations dedicated to Foghat and Gold Erring, 30-some-years later. It was the peak of music.

To understand you correctly, just because I like someone who has put out a record means I am not a true music fan. I learned early on that people who judge what music other people listen to are TRULY not a TRUE music fan

Radiohead is an amazing band. Each CD is completely individual. Reckoner is an amazing song that I can listen to all day.

Coldplay was good for one album and then became stale.

I like tool.

I don't like Primus.

Primus and Phish, not my cup of tea ( though I do have a tiny bit of sentimentality with primus). But the difference is, Primus and Phish have fun. They don't take themselves uber-seriously.. their fan bases may suck, and their music may be boring ,but at least you don't get some primus fan going on and on and on for hours about how deep les claypool is, how "wynonna's big brown beaver" follows a Fibonacci sequence with it's time signature, and Phish heads don't cut themselves to Bouncing around the room. Tools music just makes me want to commit homicide, it is utterally insufferable.

Right now I'm into indigenous australian Bunggul and Kun-borrk, featuring instruments like Didgeridoos and aboriginal percussion. It's legitimately spiritual music. If you're really interested in it, I suggest starting with Colored Stone ( traditional Aboriginal music fused with regae) or maybe some of Jimmy Little's more traditional stuff ( he's had an epic career, spanning all sorts of genres, so there's alot of crap, but he's done plenty of traditional music, it's a good introduction to Aboriginal music)
