i generally do. A problem i face is when i get up against a habitual overbetter and i get no odds vs him on anything. For example a 2-2 nl $100 buy in im at 250 when this guy sits down. first hand i play with him i Raise 8 (my standard raise at this table) in LP with 78 of hearts he calls in BB. Flop 79J no flushes. he leads into me for 70 into a pot of $18. So i fold that hand and he does it every hand wins a couple then inevitably gets caught on one and is about even or under. I tighten up vs. this type of player but call with weaker hands than normal, 2nd pair top pair with a bad kicker. But how should i handle a player that takes the play away from me. Also in the theme of small ball what should my PF raise be in this type of game? 2.5 or 3x the blind gets reraised way too much and it seems 8(4x) lets me control the pot usuall if the play is somewhat normal.
2-2NL $100 buyin isn't the best game to try to play small ball in, due to the size of the stacks. Small ball relies a lot on implied odds, and you just don't have the implied odds in a short stack game.
