We played monopoly as kids....alot. My brother would make me the banker (obv cause i was smarter and could add/count money faster). His friends and him would pull bank robberies and kick my ass and take all the money. I never got to win at monopoly.

I've been married twice. Occasionally, my friends and their wives would get together and play monopoly. After a couple of times each, neither of my wives would play if I was playing. I'm a nice guy, but very competitive, and tend to piss people off when they just "give" monopolies away.

I just remembered another story about those days. All of my friends loved to gamble, so we sometimes added a twist to the game. If anyone landed on Free Parking, we rang a bell, and the casino opened up. I would pull out a deck of cards, and players were allowed to play blackjack versus the bank for a certain number of hands.

Fun Times.

My family banned Scattergories after too many heated arguments. Good times, though.

Phase 10 is a very fun and easy card game that I have played for YEARS with my family.

I love Monopoly, but I'm the same as others here, too competitive. My wife gets mad at me when we play it cause as soon as the dice is rolled, I know where they will land and how much they owe who without looking at anything really. So for example, she rolls as soon as the dice land, I would say "Illinois Ave, you owe me $20".

Me and my friends played it all the time for $50-$100/game each...we always wanted to figure out a way to have extra money so we could have a "bank" and basically use real money...like use $0.01, $0.05, $0.10, $0.20, $0.50, $1, and $5 in real money instead of the $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, and $500 bills in Monopoly Money. Never actually did that though...
