hi everyone,
I am new here and now I started playing 5 player sit n go's. And I want to improve my game, can you give me some tips how to do that? Maybe you could be me some links to articles about how to play short-handed sit n go's. Thanks in advance for sharing.
Sorry if I posted this in a wrong forum.

Agressive... play aggressive
What are the starting chip stacks?
What are the starting blinds?
How long are the blinds?
Is this live or online?

1500
15/30
8 minutes
online
Blinds go up very fast actually... 15/30, 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 200/400, they don't have 75/150 and 150/300, what seems to be weird.

I mostly play cash games so take this advice lightly...
Early on you need to push hard with pairs...
I'd limp with lots of other hands especially on the button... suited and unsuited connectors, AX and boardway cards should see a flop and pushed hard if you connect
aggressive play on the flop but don't get carried away as people will be trapping
As with all tourneys as the blinds get bigger you need to steal blinds... there is a book about sng strategy that lots of the sng players talk about...
tried to find a link... no dice

play the table, firstly
if tis loose, play it smart and conservative, and weild your chips heavy when you get hands
if tis tight, steal blinds and build your stack through no confrontation as much as you see fit
keep an eye on how many chips are in play (7500), and how many places pay (2), thus giving you a chip minimum to get to (3750) in order to beter ensure yourself a paying spot

That's Ongame, right?
Play very agg.!
DON'T play some trash out of position!
Early levels: Try to double your stack asap! Raise with any two suited hands stronger than 23 (A=14, K=13, Q=12, J=11, T=10, 9=9..), or 23, doesn't matter.
Limp with every weak hand you're avail. to limp in.
Avail. = do that from blinds.
Mid levels: Loose your game! Get those chips! Build your stack! You want to be at least 2nd in chip count before the blinds reach 50/100 mark.
Watch out 'bout players. Who is passive? Who's aggro? Steal that blinds!
Late levels: You can't do much here. Any suited hand (45+), any pp (44+) would be good. Be a shove bot! But don't play out of position! Just don't!

I really like Scott Fischman's advice on SNGs:
Scott FischmanIt refers to 6-handed, but same principles except 5 handed you need to be even more aggressive.
My advice is to keep in mind that you are playing a $10 SNG. 75%-80% of the players in these suck, so for the most part I would play solid poker. Maybe make a few moves once the blinds are huge.

Every post talks about aggression, none talk about playing tight, except by reference to the SF article.
Just like any other SnG the objective is to make it to the money, then worry about moving up. That means playing TIGHT even if it means running your stack down due to the blinds. When you get to the bubble and beyond you become a pushbot.
Obviously "tight" means different things short handed vs full table. If you interpret any of the posts to mean "push middle pairs when the blinds are low", that is wrong! In early position your low blind raising range should be something like 88+, A9+, A7s+,K9s+, KQ KJ, QJ, and JTs. If youre table is calling light then elminate the last 3.
