the preflop raiser checks i blast the pot the other guy folds and the pre flop raisier check raises me for like 3/4 of the pot.

well, with the greatly detailed post you've provided, no, I don't give him credit for aces every time here. You have the blocker, and if he has AAxx and flops an ace, he should be leading out.

i guess if i raise and he comes back over the top i could fold, but then there really aint that much left so i might as well call.

so i answered my own question, call unless i know he will shove it in with less than a set here (if i think he might not have aces).

in the hand i called and he blasted the pot on the turn. i picked up a flush draw but still folded figuring that if he is really this anxious to give away his money (ie he doesnt have aces) ill get it soon enough.

w/ the upping of aggression I've gotten more one street w/ my play, but flatting this flop seems iffy. There's a lot of turns that would make me fold, if you're looking for a reason to fold he's given you enough of one, but my choices here would be raise or fold w/ call pulling up show.

Stack sizes and pot sizes are very important in this hand.

You don't often see someone raise preflop and then check-raise an A-high flop. A check-call means he is likely to have aces, but a check-raise is a pretty rare play in this spot at least in my experience.

The lesson of this hand is that you should consider using the check-raise in this spot yourself.

When you check-raise do you always have aces?

no. i actually do it a lot. it turns lots of little pots that you would have won with a c-bet into like 20bbish pots.
