I think I may have overvalued my hand, given the texture of the board; at that time I figured he had a flush draw he could be playing aggr or some kind of king(KJ or KT maybe).

This second one is the opposite of the first hand. It felt underplayed. I have 9outs to the flush, 4 for the straight and 3 outs to the ace. Is it worth the bet on the turn? Or perhaps a reraise on the flop would be the best play.
