Last day of May, time to set June goals.
In June I just hope to duplicate what I did in May. I took my first shot at $100 NL full ring in May and did pretty well. I stopped multi-tabling so I didn't put in as many hands as I usually do but I still logged over 50 hours.
With my sold tournament tickets I netted $2,300 and change.

Nice Graph Money, i'd kill to win like that.
May was just horrible for me, on my first PT database i'm stuck 4 buy ins over 10k hands at $25nl and i'm seriously doubting that i'm a winning player even at this level which is a joke. Aiming to get a tonne of hands in this month after exams finish and work on my game a lot, hopefully winning money in the process ofc. Gonna play a lot of MSOP events as well as I haven't played a tournament for a long time.
Good luck all

May was ok to me, I just didn't play enough as usual. I played 5300 hands, which is way off my 10k goal, and won $92, which did give me the bankroll to move up to 1/2. I've only played one session at 1/2 so far, and I'm up a little, but I haven't played since Wednesday due to work and a bit of life tilt unrelated to poker.
June goals are simple. 12k hands of LHE( 3k/week). Current roll is ~$630. Move up to 2/4 at $1200. Drop down at $400. I doubt I'll win enough to move up, unless I play a sick number of hands (for me), since I'd have to run at 2.5bb/100 to move up in 12k hands.
June is actually the beginning of a new personal challenge for me on all fronts, but that's for another thread (LHE challenge thread perhaps.)
GL all.

May Goals:
-Continue playing 48 SNGs a day, 60 when I feel like it. - failed..big time
-Get Platinum star - 1/2 way there lol
-Continue playing the 27s, only move down when running bad - check lol
-Play some donkaments on weekends - had a stretch of about a week where i focused on mtt's, didnt go well, but check
-Post a top5 high orbit Neptune score - nope, i dont run good enough, nor did i play enough lol

(graph is a little off as usual)
SNG Profit:
+$630MTT Profit:
-$361Total Profit: +$269
Current BR: $4,804.95 (i cashed out nearly $900 this month, ughhh)
As usual, I was lazy and did not play nearly enough. Halfway through the month I focused solely on MTTs for a week, despite playing well(at least i think so) things just didn't go my way. Next month im srsly for real this time going to put in at least 1k games and finally make platinum star.
June Goals:
-No more big cashouts
-Play at least 36 sngs a day
-Get platinum star once and for all
-Play a few donkaments when I feel like it
-Place in SNG leaderboard
Profit goal: $1500

Well, time to set an actual goal for June I guess. As some of you may have seen, I just finished up the S7S training. That's pretty much consumed my poker being (and good % of my bankroll) for the last 6 months or so.
For right now, the goal is to rebuild the roll. I'm starting out by playing some 6max nl$50 - I'm about 800 hands in, and getting a good feel for it. I'm not exactly rolled for it (in terms of actual money online) but I feel comfortable with it right now, and I do have the ability to redeposit if it gets to that point, so I'm going to give it a shot for now.
I've only been 1tabling it right now, trying to focus on the flow of the game and how people are playing their hands. Due to that, I probably won't get in many hands this month, but I'm ok with that - call it a learning curve. Lets ballpark a goal at 7500 hands, and winrate of anything over 2.5bb/100. I'd be happy with that for my first month.
Cheers, and good luck everyone!

Well, first time setting goals so I'll aim low.
I've recently started multitabling, so 10k hands seems good.
Also trying to improve the 7BB/100 to something better, which will happen as soon as I improve my self control; still fails at times.
Also, keep studying the books, zach666's posts and have fun.

Not sure what games you play, but a winrate of 7BB/100 (over a meaningful sample size, obv) is pretty much owning souls. Nice job.
Will post results and goals after one more evening sesh.

May goals:
1. Get more involved with the Mayans group discussing hands, etc. I know this could help my game tremendously and if I ever stop being sick, I am looking forward to this.
2. Play 35k hands and clear $1k bonus. This is prob going to be a stretch, but in order to clear my eurolinx bonus I need to suck it up and put in a lot more hands than usual.
3. +$800 in cash games.
4. No 100NL shot taking until BR exceeds $3k.
5. No donkaments.
May results:
1. sigh...this didn't happen. I've been working wayyyy more than I was expecting to, and when I wasn't working I was trying to get as many hands in as possible to clear the $1k bonus.
2. lollar, not even close. PT says 19k hands.
3. +$979 in cash games...SHIP! After starting off the month on a massive downward spiral (-800 from 50nl), I am VERY happy with the recovery I made. Also cleared $400 in "points to cash" promo. I still haven't cleared the $1k bonus, but I am close. I have one week left to do it and I'm confident I will get it done.
4. This didn't happen, but the reasons why were justifiable.
5. check.
June goals:
1. let's try this again...Get more involved with the Mayans group discussing hands, etc.
2. 20k hands
3. +$1500 in cash games.

That's very good, actually. How many hands? I play 10k hands late last year when I started my current run out (started at .05/.10) and ran at 4bb/100 before I had the bankroll to move up. If you're sustaining 7bb/100 over a meaningful sample (10k+) you should probably think about moving up.

Goals
15k VPPs
back to 100nl full time
Good Uni results.
Will take a break every 500 hands, I was playing long sessions this month, and I was getting a bit tired towards the end, Just going to take a couple minutes break every 500 hands.
resultsFail, 4800, very disappointed
Fail, instead moved back down to 25nl
Ok, I don't really know yet
Stopped doing this, took breaks as needed.
Pokerstars updated their hand history format which meant pokertracker doesn't work without a patch. I can't apply the patch so I don't have accurate results or graphs.
I about broke even, probably somewhere near 30k hands, maybe more.
Lost at 50nl, because I can't do better than breakeven at that level. If I'd been able to stay there I definately would've made at least platinum star, if not the 15k vpp goal. Moved down to 25nl where I seriously feel like I'm printing money, but I make almost no vpps (this is probably the reason I don't beat 50nl, because more vpps implies higher rake)
goalsNo specific goals, I have exams and assignments for uni this month that I'll be focusing on.

May Goals:
Live to my 26th birthday and don't die of alcohol poisoning during the FCP golf outing.
More progress on the house
More progress on getting in shape
Going back east in the middle of the month for my brother's college graduation.
Poker Goals for May:
Play 20k hands
Win $15,000
Break away from being staked by Jordan. This is a slight reach goal.
Don't have more 5-buyin losing day than 5-buyin winning days
Still alive
Attempted to buy 1 house. Waiting to hear back on the 2nd.
Still out of shape.
I played a shade over 17k hands, so I didn't meet my hands goal, but I didn't expect to based on the amount of time that I was away from poker for the month.
I won $18,260.
I'm not staked anymore.

I only had 2 or 3 losing days total.
June Goals:
Go to the beach on the 20th with Lindsey.
GET THE HOUSE THAT I OFFERED ON!!!!
Play 12k hands online.
Win $20k between live 5/10 NL and online heads up.
Play live poker.
Spend quality time with FCPers.

Well, May kicked ass. After going down $75 in April, I more than made my May money goal.
Money goal- $80-$100
May results - $310
After April's debacle, I decided to drop down from $5.50 sngs to $2.40 sngs.
Goal - Play 200-300 sngs.
Actual - 190 (close)
ITM - 91/190 ROI - 22.4
SNG profit - $102.20
The rest of my profit came largely from my $1 rebuy scores.
I'd estimate* I have 10 cashes out of 15* attempts, including four final tables and two second place finishes. I've still never taken down a tournament in my life. This blows away any previous tournament results I've had in the past. In the very near future, I'd like to focus more of my attention on rebuy tournaments.
Profit from tournaments (before deducting entry and rebuy fees) - $345.64
Finally, play more stud hi/lo - Fail. Did play a bit of Horse, limit and nl cash games and some hu sngs, so I did mix it up a bit.
June goals:
1) Money goal - $200-$400
2) Play 10 more $2.40 sngs, than switch back to $5.5 I'm currently rolled for $11, but moving from $2.40 -$11 might be too steep. Want to make sure my game stays intact. If I play 200 $5.5 and show a reasonable profit, I'll move up to $11 sngs, with extra money just in case.
3) Try to play 5-10 rebuy tournaments.
4) Watch and study Daniel's small ball section and as well as the math section on pokervt. The site amazing. Now that I have it, it's going to be very hard to part with. Hopefully, I'll be making enough at the tables to continue paying for it.

I only played about 23k hands, so short of my goal. I am not upset about this and I enjoyed my month.

June Goals:I am not going to set any strict goals this month, as I'll be in vegas for 2 weeks of it. (Is it funny that going to vegas as a proffesional poker player seems like a -EV decision to me?)

I don't believe I set any goals for May, but it probably involved winning money if I did.
I made a sufficient amount of money in May. I made a noticeable change to how I play, dropping tables and hours, and focusing on deeper reads and identifying poor players. This has increased my earn, but I ran well and experienced a significant amount of variance. I had a few amazing days and a couple soulcrushing ones. I also ended up making some extremely poor decisions and awful loans.
June goals:
$: Make 2-4k.
Playing goals: keep doing what's working
Other: Don't loan money, Begin packing up my apartment to move (to a house), Keep expenses to a minimum. Don't play PLO.

Not sure about ROI, but sharkscope has me at 27% through 700 sngs so it would be nice to maintain that.----hehe...28.2% for May
Stay away from MTT donkaments--epic failage....46.25% ROI though due to one 2nd in a PLO
Don't withdraw from summer school--success...still time to withdraw though
Also, I managed to get in roughly 2K hands of PLO50 6max and was up a little over a BI. I have been experimenting with shortstacking an original buyin of $30 and it seems to be working out. I am getting very loose action from big stacks that I don't typically get with full buyins. As usual I start out playing solid and the longer the session goes the crazier I get. I usually 4-6 table and I think I need to cut it off at about 600 hands or 90 minutes.
June goals--going to have a bit more time this month as 4 of my classes do not start until June 16th and my teaching obligations have ended so I will get a few weeks off. Actually writing this from Saint Simon's Island on the Georgia coast

-play 5k hands at 10NL, (idk what would be a good winrate at 6max) and prove that i can win.
-if I do well, move up to 25NL.

How many hands do you have to play a day at $10/25NL to get bronze/silver/gold ironman status and do you think it's worth it bonus wise? I've got some time off soon and i'm wondering if it's worth the effort to try and acheive this

Weird goal to have...but I want to keep picking off bluffs. The weakest part of my game has always been that; decent players, or even aggrodonks, could always force me to fold with sufficient pressure. So far I've been doing great, thinking hands through enough so that villain's range includes, a large enough percent of the time, a bluff. Today actually I'm only slightly down, $15 or so, because I picked off three large bluffs. My "good hands," such as kings and TPTK, have been what's cost me.

June goals:
-FT a rebuy tournament
-At least 2 FTs in tournaments with fields >360
-1 3rd-1st finish
-Take BR to the 3k level (2.5k now)
-Play a litte 3/6 LHE 6 max 1 tabling in between tournaments!
-Goldstar would be cool, but i don't think i can do that with $11 and $22 tournaments
Let's do this!

How many hands do you have to play a day at $10/25NL to get bronze/silver/gold ironman status and do you think it's worth it bonus wise? I've got some time off soon and i'm wondering if it's worth the effort to try and acheive this
It depends on what level you're going for.
200pts/day, probably like 1200-1400 hands/day
100pts/day, probably 600-800 hands/day
50pts/day, probably 300-500 hands/day
These numbers are just a guess though. I'm still at 10NL, hoping to be ready for 25NL by the end of the month.
Don't know what I'm going to do at 25NL. Move back to 6m or stay at FR. I'm leaning toward staying at FR as I don't feel comfortable with my 6m game atm at all.

Didn't make anywhere near as much as I was hoping last month. Finished up $3200 or so.
For this month, my only real goal is to get the volume up as I've been slacking a little bit on getting hands in. I'd like to put in a bare minimum of 30K hands this month and ideally, I'd like it up in the 35K-40K range. Obviously, I'd like a big winrate too, but the volume's something I know I can control, and monetary goals tend to add undue pressure if you take them seriously. (Not that I took mine seriously at all last month.)

So I've been getting more and more into cash games (omaha), and May was my first month of playing it really full time. 1/2 full ring mostly, some 6-max. It is only 5000 hands (seems like a lazy month

), but omahahaha is slow - it's actually 102 hours.
BTW, I think you're slow, not Omaha. I had a lazy month in May too; I only played 71 hours. Still got in 22K hands though.

Imo, if you've been playing full ring $10NL and want to move up to $25 you should play $25 FR and $10 6-max, then work on your 6-max game at a lower level (this is also good as you can experiement more/not be scared to take certain lines) and move up to $25 6-max when you feel comfortable with 6 handed play.

Month to date so far:

I'm not sure if I should be extending my # of hands goal just yet. I turn 21 tmr night and will be out "celebrating" (read: vomiting) all night and if my friends birthdays were any indication, I'll be recovering all day the next day. I also told my aunt I would go to the slots parlor with her before she leaves Saturday and I told her we could go Thursday. I'm also planning on going to Wheeling to play at the casino Friday so between those three things and going to New Jersey the 13,14,15, I should be able to get a lot more hands it, but don't want to extend my goal(s) just yet.
