when you do this with top pair type of hands you really have to know when to call down if he takes it to three on the turn or if you fold.

i would say that if you don't know what you are going to do if he three bets you on the turn when you do that (obviously depending on which card hits) just be aggressive on the flop and lay back on the bigger streets.
