What a joke this year has been...

When the hell is it going to be over already..

Makes me puke everytime I see the bullshit Penguins win ....

At least Ottawa got kicked and Montreal is getting pistol whipped like they deserve..

I had enough hockey this year...

I am out of here..

PUKE...PUKE ...PUKE

Hate is a strong word, especially from someone who works in the business of saving people lives by dispatching emergency services..

I dont think this Serge guy is to be hated..Vilified maybe, revered surely , but hated no.

Will the real slim gruven please stand up, please stand up?

If I'm not mistaken it seems Serge used the "H" word first in his sig. I just altered the meaning of the other 3 letters.

(plus by now, I think he can handle a little ball busting from the forum - if you can dish it out, you better be able to take it)

Yeah I agreee...Serge needs to dish it out

Worst playoffs ever. Bruins lose in the first round, Dallas loses to Detroit, I was out of the playoff pool after 1 round, I couldn't even keep up with the cbc pool (not that it mattered probably) because my computers both ****ed me over for like 2 months. **** hockey until next year.

Well its finally over and things turned out not too bad in the end..

To Summarize,

The Leafs had a very bad year, disastrous really..

Good things...

Ottawa was the worst team in the league near the end of the season
Montreal got their asses handed to them in the second round
Pittsburgh DIDNT win the cup..

It could of been worse..Lets hope next year is a better one for us..3 weeks left and free agency begins.

I predict:

Wilson doesn’t take the job in Toronto.

Fletcher will be the GM at the start of the season.

Burke will be the GM next season.

Sundin leaves Toronto via UFA.

Toronto is unable to attract any interesting free agents this summer.

Toronto misses the playoffs for 5th year in arrow.

Being serious, this would be a good year for them. They'd be able to draft good players because they'd probably finish in the bottom four of the entire league (after they trade some of their good players) and you don't really need a scout to tell you who to draft in the top 4. They couldn't screw it up royally anyway.

Well actually their good players all have no-trade clauses right? So, because of Toskala, they'd probably finish in the 9-12 range. If they had good scouts, this would be workable, but from past draft experience, it doesn't seem like they do.

Given Jason Blake was their trophy UFA signing last year that's not a huge stretch!

I gotta agree with serge. this was one of the most unwatchable years of hockey for me. I can't really say what it was specifically but after being a die hard hockey fan for 20-something years I just couldn't get into it. And that's before my Nucks missed the playoffs from the worst callapse in recent memory.

I found the NBA so much fun to follow and watch this year. I'm worried I might not get back to hockey again.

Honestly if you couldn't get into games 3-6 of the Stanley Cup Finals you aren't as big of a hockey fan as you think. I may not be the best judge but I'm pretty sure fans outside of Detroit and Pittsburgh found it enjoyable.
runthemover
yea this season was totally awesome.

I think your team playing so horribly soured the whole thing for you.

Some highlights: Thornton's pass, Nash's goal, 4 OT games in SJ/Dallas Series (5/6 games were 1 goal games btw), Finals triple OT, and much much more.

well I blame part of the problem with moving to HK where hockey is pretty dead. however, I still followed the NBA and made an effort to record and watch games.

the Stanley Cup match-up looked great and I "should've" wanted to watch it. problem was I already lost interest before the finals came. actually...I got bored before the playoffs started. It's like a great conclusion in the book but I couldn't care for the beginning and middle.

can't say my sucky Nuckys didn't have something to do with it but I generally follow hockey regardless. if I only followed the NHL when the Leafs and Nucks were doing well then....ya know

Unless a real team like the Leafs makes a deep run, the Stanley Cup playoffs are most exciting in the first round...One of the reasons is they draw it out too long...

Despite the ">>>" hoser it is somewhat true, fewer teams means fewer total aggregate fans. Hell, the last two seasons there's been a week break before the SCF and it's been almost anti-climatic.

Shorter series; maybe best of 5 would keep more momentum going.
doox
Round 3 might as well have been best of 5, as that's all that Detroit and the Pens needed to finish off their opponents. I do think the wait between the rounds can be a bit long, though.
