Georgia is scary good. I'm excited to watch the Florida/Georgia game. Hopefully Stafford gets better on the road, or else you guys will be in trouble against LSU.

Good luck, and remember this post when Wisconsin is challenging for the #1 spot.

That game at Arizona St will be tricky, believe it or not.

But I'm with you....I like Georgia going all the way this year, especially w/ a new QB at LSU and the FLA game at home.

The Florida game is at a "neutral" site in Florida according to the OP.

NM I was having a late night brain fart. And it was not even very late.

Georgia has a great football team and an absolutely brutal schedule.

Hate to say it, but I'm kinda excited to see how it shakes out.

Oh noes, you guys pissed off Meyer and he has a bunch of sand in his asscrack about the TD celebration last year. He might try to beat you harder or something.

If we go undefeated we could go down as one of the best teams of all time. If we are lucky enough to not have any big injuries I think we can do it. We might be the deepest team in the country so hopefully players dont get overplayed which usually causes lots of injuries in college football. Obviously the Staffords and Morenos will be playing a ton, but where depth comes into play is in the trenches, and we HAVE it.

We slept on Tennessee last year, that WILL NOT happen this year. The Dawgs learned a lesson from that game I think smile.gif

I just think they're gonna be sick good this year. There will be no stopping Tebow and Harvin. And they wont give up 40 again.

You know champs aren't crowned in the preseason right? Only 2 of the last 10 preseason #1's have won the title, and neither of them had a schedule like Georgia's.

lol, this is all true. Cant not be excited about the ranking though. I like the fact that we also have the #1 toughest schedule going into the season, but i suppose that means nothing too. Just ready for the damn season to start already.......

i like auburn in this match up

In fact i like auburn to win the SEC this year.

Few things about georgia...first off they have a very strong team returning 17 starters from last year and i like there coach. Yet they have had some off field issues this year not necessarily with there starters but off field distractions are what they are.

Worst thing about this year is going to be there schedule i mean they have back to back road games against Arizona state and SC...neither easy games. Then starting Oct 25th they play at LSU (down year for them IMO), florida (never easy), at kentucky (eh), and at auburn (toughest game of all of them). Plus last year there was mid level expectations and this year they are ranked#1. Makes for a tough season when every team is going to be throwing their best at you from the beginning.

I'm a Miami fan (sigh) and a bettor (not much value on GA this year) so its not a biased outlook JMO

Now I live in Atlanta and all my friends including my lovely wife went to UGA. They are all super excited for this yr. I know not to talk shit to them I'm just out numbered and GA fans are the worst at taking it so personal. UGA is good this year but they remind me so much of Auburn in 2003. Ranked #1 and all the hype and then lose the first game to USC who was number 1 in the other poll. They went on to go like 8-4 or maybe 7-5. It wasn't till the next yr they went 13-0 and got jipped out of Nat champ(okla was a joke). I see the same thing for UGA stafford will be better next yr and moreno will be back. Plus their schedule is just WAY TO TOUGH. Plus I hate them.

They'll lose to Auburn way before they lose to UT.

Tennessee's installing a new offense and doesn't exactly have an iron curtain defense.

chin up man, no one dominates forever. I have heard from several reliable sources that both Marve and Jacory Harris are already better than Kyle Wright or Kirby Freeman ever were. Miami is a great program that had crappy recruiting especially at QB for a short period (cough, Coker's tenure, cough).

end hijack.

Georgia has, what, 6 or 7 legitimately tough games? And that is not including a potential SEC championship game. It is almost impossible for them to go undefeated. So they will have to hope that they only lose one and that there are not two undefeated BCS teams.

I respect your opinion and all but i have to toally disagree about the comparison to the overhyped Auburn team in 2003. The odd thing with that team is that they really didnt have a big year or any kind of story coming off the 2002 season going into 2003. UGA pretty much locked up there preseason ranking this year by how they ended the year last year and all the players coming back. Just two completely different scenarios, but hey, ya never know what will happen in the SEC on any given week.
kobe2odom8
good luck to your bulldogs sir. That schedule is gonna be hell. IF you make it to national championship game it will be well deserved.

my chin is up, i just look at things more realistically than i use to (prob cause im a sports bettor now and its take some of my homerism passion away from me icon_confused.gif ).

There young and were awful last year (almost losing to duke is not good), this year though they have a new DC, which will make the defense better (hopefully) but who knows how long it will take until they all buy into the system, since only 2 of the front 7 on defense are back, luckly they keep there secondary, which should be better playing a full year together already. The schedule seems to help them this year but not early since they have to play fla and texas a&m (i feel are both losses). Later in the year they should be good (also to bet on..yay early season losses add line value late). They have most of their tough games at home and thier easier games are on the road. Im looking at next year or year after (depends on QB ability) for this team to really advance and possibly compete for an ACC title, not this year though.

I never hijack threads, this is a first, my bad, carry on with GA talk. icon_biggrin.gif

Yeah its pretty bad, but honestly its not like any of these guys got arrested for anything serious, pretty much just all normal college type behavior. They should realize they are representing the school and all but whatever. None of the guys suspended for the first game are starters, so it shouldnt be an issue as far as the game goes, just looks bad, thats all. No rapes, no drug issues, no murders........just underage drinking, dui's, and bar fights. I can live with that

Yeah this one pretty much sucks, this guy is a future 1st round pick and just a beast. He absolutely owned last year as a freshmen on teh OL, very rare in college football these days, especially the SEC.

On the other hand we are VERY deep and we will be able to fill this gap with a rotation of other lineman. Our O-line was played as a rotation last year going 9-10 deep so we got the players.......i hope icon_confused.gif

Any talk at all about that Central Michigan game? QB up there ran for more yards/passed for more yards than any other QB last year.. obv not a loss for UGA, but I could see it being a 42-38 type game.

Yeah most everyone hear is pretty aware of how explosive that team is. Legitimate opponent that I'm glad we play at home. They will prolly put some points on the board but not that many imo. I could see like a 52-21 type score........they will prolly get a couple scores towards the end. Their defense will be in for a long day. Well, actually a short day icon_biggrin.gif

I feel really bad for Georgia fans this year. George could very easily be the best team in the country, and still lose 2 games. They could be one of the best teams in the last DECADE (ie, of all time), and still drop two games and be left out of the National Title game. That schedule is just un-fucking-fair.

I hate the SEC, so it pains me to say this.

GayFever is pretty good, but I don't think Central has the athletes up front to compete with any big time programs on either side of the ball. Did you watch the CMU/Purdue bowl game last year? Purdue sucks, and Central couldn't get a stop. George is a lot faster in the front 7 (specifically the front 4) than Purdue, so they'll be able to neutralize GayFever. I still think Central will be able to score, but I am really curious to see what that line opens at. Nebraska is only giving 14.5 to CrappyWesternMichigan at home, and BC is only giving 10 at Kent State. Central is better than either of those teams (though Western might be good enough to cost me a lot of money this year), but Georgia is MUCH better than either of those teams.

What do we think that number will open at? Like 24?

Central Mich prolly could have scored maybe another TD if there QB wasnt so scared shitless to run the ball. Wow there defense was pretty horrible and we covered that spread easily.
