List your fav hockey possession, you're allowed more than one.

I have a basement full of hockey stuff, I have 2 favs that I would never get rid of.

1. My replica Maple Leafs Garden with removable roof very well done.

2. 1979 Edmonton Oilers Media guide with Gretzky on the cover. Very hard to find

3. Jimmy Key autographed practice bat. (one of my fav pitchers)
serge
My parents basement is full of my hockey cards..About 10000 of them from the 80s.

Still havent moved them into my house, even though I have been out of there for 6 years..

Rick Vaive autographed memoribilia FTW
SBriand
That is hard....

1. My first hockey stick that I ever played with that I later got signed by Igor Larianov.

2. My Draper jersey that was given to me essentially by Draper himself. My dad was working with Paul Boyer the equipment manager of the Red Wings for his racing team and told Paul he tried to get me an authentic jersey and Paul asked who he wanted to get and my dad said anyone. So Paul asked the around and Drapes gave one of his up. So pretty cool.

3. I am sure they do it for other teams but there are a bunch of large posters that are panoramic shots after teams win. I have one of the Wings 98 win at the MCI center and I can see me in the photo, which to me is pretty cool.

4. I am not afraid to admit my man love for Chris Osgood. I have a plaque my mom got me a long time ago that has a game puck, a rookie card and a 8x11 photo. The photo is signed. I went to a signing at a local hockey card/memorabilia shop back in the late 90's where he was doing a signing and had him sign the card and the puck. He thought the plaque was cool and wanted one. lol

5. My ticket to game 4 against the Caps in 98 at the MCI center. We decided the night before to jump in my friends car and drive to DC and try and score tickets. We got into Arlington at my friends cousins house by 11am, called ticketmaster and scored 3 tickets, slept till 5pm and then headed out and watched the Wings win the cup.

6. Oh and Steve Yzermans cell phone number. I wish I still had the voicemail of when he called me, "Hey Steve, it's Steve." lol and he needed to talk to me and told me when his practice was over and to give him a call when he would be in the lockerroom. This was around 01 02. He was really a cool guy to work with.

serge
Oh I almost forgot this one..

I have a framed page from the Toronto Sun..With me in the second row behind the glass...Its really cool
Speed Limit
Probably a signed Gretzky photo of him scoring number 802, it's pretty big and very cool.
Zach6668
Hmm.... lots of Pens-related crap, and a boatload of hockey cards, but I haven't touched anything or even thought about it in forever...

I have a card from 1936... Hooley Smith from the Maroons.

Jagr autographed card...oh, I got Forsberg autographed card as well... Yzerman rookie card....

Other cool stuff as well, nothing really rare or anything, but some cool stuff.
LJB723
Bah, I don't have anything nearly as cool as you guys. Although my father is an art dealer and has framed several signed jerseys, for other people sadly.

I just have my $11 photo of me and the Stanley Cup from the HHOF. biggrin.gif
troyomac
I got a free coaster from the pub the other day, with the Bruins logo on it, and it has water inside. You stick it in the freezer, then keep your beer cold!

I'd hurt someone if they messed with my Zetterberg jersey.

I have many autographed cards and photos by great players (Bobby Hull, Wayne Gretzky, Brendan Shanahan, Mario Lemieux, Jean Beliveau, Guy Lafleur, etc...) and a large number of rookie cards (Gretzky, Messier, Hull, Bossy, Trottier, Brodeur, etc...) but I have three items that I value more than anything.

Here's one:

See if you can spot me and the current NHLer in the team photos. smile.gif

Top pic 2nd from left sitting down...his name is Stephen G. and he never played in the NHL.

Bottom pic standing in the back with the A 6th from the left...his name is Darren M. and he never played in the NHL either.

HINT: the current NHLer played/or is playing tonight.

Dale was the kid with the glasses a fiesty one, he looks pissed in the pic.

Your the guy sitting to the far left in the top pic the NHL is the one with the C who seems extra happy.

Now to comment on the coaches Top pic the guy to the far right is a collector for the Gambino crime family great earner, and the bottom pic I need me one of those hats. Thats some classic style right there.

What? I know a guy who knows a guy, who knows Lou Lamariello. I bought a Brodeur jersey for my Devils-loving gf from the NHL shop online, had it sent to my friend, who had it shipped to Jersey, signed, then sent back to me. In the whole process, she dumped me. Screw her - I kept it.

Ok, I suppose that's acceptable. Brodeur is still the enemy though.

I would have dumped the girl for being a Devils fan first, though.

Top pic...I'm first on left (next to coach) in the back row. And the NHLer IS the guy with the "C" who is extra happy. I guess he knew how much money he'd be making when he grew up.

Bottom pic...I'm far right front row (No! My dog didn't die that day) and the same NHLer is 3rd from left in the back row.

I do have one of those hats. High quality stuff.
Zach6668
Did the NHLer play tonight?

I respect Brodeur, but I pretty much despise the franchise when they play the Pens. It hurt to purchase it, but I figured she'd really like it. I bet she would have, but we'll never know icon_biggrin.gif Sucks to be her, indeed.

It sucked during Pens/Devils games when I was with her, because the apartment we shared got about 20 degrees colder on game nights. There was no talking between us, and goal celebrations were somewhat muted. Talking usually didn't resume until late the next day, and it was up to the losing fan to start it back up. During the 2000 playoff series between the Devils (of which we lost), I don't think there was much conversation at all. I cheered like hell when Kasparitis scored, but that joy went away real fast when I looked ahead.
doox
Let's see....1977 is the date. I'm guessing that the kids in the pics are around 11-12 years old, and the NHL'er has a darker skin tone...I'm probably wrong, but I'll go with Chelios as the current NHL'er.

Yes he did.

It's not Chelios...I'm not that old. smile.gif 1977 would make us 9 years old. We're a little older in the other pic.

Shanahan?
Zach6668
Cool pics.

Closest I came to playing with an NHLer was Katie Weatherston, who is on the Women's National Team, lol, where I was like 4 or 5, my first or second year in hockey, haha.

Bingo! Zach knew it too.

That's Shanny in both pictures.

By the way, the guy 2nd from left in the bottom pic wearing the "A" was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers. He never made the NHL but he played for the Hershey Bears. His name is Jamie Cooke.

You were way too excited to brag... what you should have done was blurred out the year, and just said that there was an NHLer somewhere in the pictures. The range of guesses that would have been tossed out would have been awesome.

That being said, i'd have done it the same way.

Edit: And one other thing... i didn't know Down's Syndrome could have such a late onset.

I played with Ryan Flynn (former goon of the Kings) when I was 5. After the 92 playoffs I took part in Wendell Young's summer hockey camp. He let all us 12 year olds try on his 91 ring
dEv~
Back in '92 my dad woke me up @ like 2am and took me to the bar he played softball for. He happened to know a trainer for the pens @ the time and I guess it was his night with the Stanley cup. Anyway I have a few pictures holding the cup. (well @ 9 years old it was too heavy to hold it myself but my dad helped me)
MapleLeafs
My prized possession is my FCHL championship.

No joke.

I have a pic from me, I believe in '92 also, holding the cup. I'll have to track that down.

As for most prized possession...
1) Koho signed Mario from late 80s/early 90s. I only own 1/3 of this though with my 2 older brothers.

2) Colby stick from the Winter Classic. More because it's from that game and the memory I'll have of than it being Colby's, obv.

3) My first stick I ever used, in feet hockey in my basement...a Titan TMP 1020, or something like that. Also, puck from my first goal ever...not scored with the Titan though.

I guess that's it, I don't have much memorabilia.
GeneralGeeWhiz
i only have two possessions that are hockey related.

1. a puck from the FIRST ever sharks in team history, we had good seats. It came flying over the boards and a old man caught and he gave it to me. i was six, so i was super excited
2. NHL 94 for SNES
magnus72
My Minnesota Wild keychain form The Hockey News. Obv.
AmScray
Puck from a Portland Winterhawks game.
A lot of big name RC cards from the 1980's.
Speed Limit
Probs not the most valuable but I've got myself a John Vanbiesbrouck signed generic Florida Panthers hockey mask from 95-96 season, I like that one a lot too.

I had a couple items recently find themselves in my posession:

Any Pens fans remember the Russian Penguins? if not: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Penguins

I absolutely can't wait to wear that to a Pens game smile.gif

Here's one I won't be wearing...ever:

That's a 1992 Pens jersey with the Badger Bob patch, the 25 year anniversary patch, and the Cup patch from having won it the previous year. It's even signed by #66 himself.

That, and I now have 2 pucks: one is a Penguins puck signed by Ulf Samuelson, and the other is an LA Kings puck signed by Marty McSorley smile.gif

I'd would throw the Ulf one in a flaming pile of rubber. Guy's a mother f'ing goon.
doox
Yeah, but he was MY team's goon, so I'm biased. He made an appearance during a Pens game in Craig Patrick's last year and was warmly received by the crowd, so I'm not alone. With you being a Bruins fan, I completely understand the animosity.

Of course, it isn't like McSorley was a Lady Byng winner, either.
