Still trying to learn the basics of stud hi/lo.

1. This hand is strong enough for a bring in/raise correct?
2. However since hardly anyone is showing anything that looks like it would reasonably raise is a full bet good here?

With AA2, in stud8, I would put in 15 bets if I could.

You have a great spot since the stakes are low and four low cards out there, somebody is going to come and chase for half the pot. I think you are at a huge advantage because a lot of their low cards are dead door cards. I like a raise of the bring in here almost everytime.

You have to raise this every day. There's no value in NOT raising.

A harder hand to play, IMO, is something like QQA or KK2. I find these hands tricky in 8-handed small stakes games where folding opponents before 5 street is almost impossible.

Opinions?

Well I am aware of the value of the hand, I'm more interested in how I should open, with a bring-in looking for a raise, or just go ahead and bet the full bet. In h/l as compared to stud hi and especcially compared to razz, you are going to have a lot more playable hands as the bring in. Should I be full betting a fairly wide range?

bring-in, raise.

what do you mean dead door cards?
checkymcfold
bring in small, then reraise it when it's back to you. the only exception to this is if you're at a game where everyone will just limp whatever and never raise/complete on 3rd, and in that case you need to bring in full.

that was your question, right?

Basically, it's the other cards you see face up that can't help you - the 3d, 7c, Kd, 8d, 6c, and Td. In this hand, 4 of the hero's low outs are dead, and it's less likely for someone else to catch a flush with 4 of them shown as upcards.
