OK, before Seat 4 acted, I said to myself if:
1 - if he folds, I raise
2 - if he limps, I limp
3 - if he raises, I fold


Are these valid decisions in this spot?

If this is [A8]3 then I raise if he limps or folds, and maybe overcall a raise. But if, for example, I'm sure Seat 4 is not raising the completion without 3 to a 6-low, should I fold?

for the simple reason that you can play your hand profitably, provided you're not a donkey post-third, yes .

fwiw, i ONLY EVEN CONSIDER folding an 8 starter ever if it's a complete and a raise cold to me on third. like, ever.
