Villian has been on table for maybe 7 hands, this is the first pot they've entered. I reluctantly folded here because what can i beat other than a bluff? Or does he have a busted draw and feels this is the only way of winning the pot.
Temporary Nuts
against an unknown i'm not calling praying it's a busted fd... bc ur exactly right.. the only time ur ahead is a busted fd and against an unknown don't go near it

(ok... i will sometimes call but I'll openly admit it's the wrong move)

edt: don't be raising J-To w/o reads
AbsolutKnuts
Yes i realise the PF raise probably wasnt the best but i had a "feeling"

I hate these lines that don't make any sense. Weak made hand picks up a draw on the turn? Draw picks up another draw on the turn? I think a fold is perfectly acceptable here. I am not that crazy about our hand and it's not like the river card was really even a blank.
AbsolutKnuts
I think looking back on it he flopped a monster (either trips with 66 or had J6) and was slow playing from the go. I very much doubt he hit two runners and made a flush or strait.
MikeBauer26
I expect the "busted-draw"-Bluff-Bet rather from week players oop who checkcalled flop and turn.

I fold here too, putting him on a stronger jack or flat called overpair.

I am not keen on playing JT this way.
I would likely fold PF, or play PF and FLOP this way - I would definitely not call PF.

I think I check behind on the turn and evaluate the river card and the bet I am faced with (Is this a place for pot control - I think it is).

The bets we are placing here leads us into playing for stacks with a good but not great hand.

Kinda seems like going to a big fight with a small gun.
IBFT
I check turn to control pot size, but I'm a nit.

I check turn to control pot size,

I'll open JTo from the CO if I haven't been active and everyone behind me is tight (specially Button) and always on B but not earlier. Definitely check the turn w/a weak TP mediocre kicker.

As played it's a fold though villain's line makes no sense. I have seen this line w/a set (though it's retarded).

Feelings generally aren't good reasons to open hands pf wink.gif

I'd normally recommend folding JTo from hijack pf.

If you checked behind on turn you wouldn't be in this situation and could see the hand to showdown. I recommend doing that with mediocre hands like this.

I fold river unless I know villian is crazy.

Yes ordinarily i dont play JT unless on the button or maybe the CO (or a free look from BB unraised).

Eh, not really... i like playing a loose game... but I like having some kind of history, at least 2 orbits, before i switch gears.
Dictius
You guys fold JTo from the hijack? Do you raise JTs?

I think it depends on your read of the players who are left to act behind you on the table. In this situation i dont normally play JTo from here because i have no real reads on the BB but i played it anyway and lost a little money. At the end of the day JTs is only marginally better than JTo.
