Partypoker - 6 players - 200NL

Hero is playing around 18/14/2.5, villian is donkish (38/19/0.9 over 35 hands) and min raising/limping and calling raises oop, however he has hit a couple of nice hands and has a decent stack.

Hero: $293.63
villian: $273.50

Hero holds A icon_suit_spade.gif Q icon_suit_spade.gif on the button.

MP raises to $4, CO calls $4, Hero raises to $18, SB folds, BB folds, MP calls $14, CO folds.

Flop: Q icon_suit_diamond.gif 8 icon_suit_diamond.gif 2 icon_suit_diamond.gif

Mp checks, Hero bets $32, Mp calls $32.

Turn: 3 icon_suit_club.gif

Mp checks, hero bets $68, Mp calls $68

River: 7 icon_suit_club.gif

Mp pushes all-in $155.50, hero ?

My read all along is that he was chasing an A or K flush draw as set raises on theflop or at least the turn given board texture...

The c/c c/c b line is pretty odd, but I snap call it.

Totally agree. This is a call with TPTK. If he has played it tricky/dangerous with a set of 8s... so be it.

Also there is 350 in the Pot already and it costs you another 150 to call, I think villain will have a busted draw or K icon_suit_diamond.gif Q something often enough to call here.

He's really repping a very narrow range with this shove and I think that overall, AQ is ahead of it, so I'd call pretty fast.

Jesus, Craigdog, how many levels have you gone up in 2008?
I thought you started at $10 NL?

Anyway, I think he flopped it and slow played it.
He raised PF then called.
Then check called, check called and shoved.
This is almost always a "tricky" way of playing a flopped flush against a PF re-raiser.
I'm guessing it's a JT flush and he was worried about you holding AdXo.

He's been going up pretty consistently. He was playing $10 when he started posting on the site a bit over a year ago.

I like when I see him posting hands from progressively higher and higher levels.

attn mtdesmoines, yeah I have moved up pretty quick in retrospect but I work kinda hard at improving my play and also I joined Cardrunners about a month ago and have learnt soooo much, I would really recommend anyone to join. I have only just started at $1-2 but feel confident enough to not play scared and generally feel I have an edge over the average $1-2 player at Partypoker lol...

As for the hand, I decided if a diamond didn't come then I'm shoving the river regardless so the call was fine with me, if he flopped a flush Im going broke, likewise with a set but he showed A icon_suit_diamond.gif 10 icon_suit_spade.gif . Pretty ugly play to even be seing a flop imo, but like I said thats Party for you...

thanks for the reply's and the kind words AK...
