Full Version: What Do You Think Of My Line Here?

Villian is one of the chips leaders, LAG but has shown both good hands and bad ones. Seems like a wanna be hot shot. Does anyone play this differently? The only thing I could think of is betting the flop. But I told myself I will not be the flop but will call any turn bet because of this if it isnt a good card for me due to the villian's image.

I bet the flop 100% of the time here. You are almost certainly an equity favorite and have fold equity, both of which you'll lose with a blank turn. On the other hand, another heart on the turn may kill your action.

interesting what he could have here to play this way KhQx? set?

Need stacks..

I really don't like any street to be honest..A 4x raise from the SB is just kind of overkill..Make it 3x

I'm betting the flop and getting it all in here if he raises me every single time against a lag
Bet the turn
Bet the river

First of all I wouldnt make it 4xBB pre. I'd like to make it 2,5-3x. I c-bet the flop. About 1/2 of the pot. Obv keep firing when you hit the flush. Anyways, ul there

I've been guilty of this play as well. You always have to give credit to the board. He played the flop as badly as you played the turn.

As others said, 3x pf raise (2.5 doesn't exist in these), 2/3 flop, push turn, or at least, don't reraise and give pot odds to call. If you play the board here, you can give credit to the 9 and assume that he has to pair the board to beat you. It's easier said than done, but you can't assume that everybody who hits a set with a flush draw on the board is going to bet. The play in these is pretty inconsistent.

You took the lead preflop, why slow down on the flop?
At least lead the turn. Then again you were going broke in this hand no matter what.

This person was so aggro I checked the flop to let him bet. This is the ONLY flop that I can remember him not betting on if checked to him. When he checked behind I was 100% sure he had a 9. That is why I bet the turn obv and I thought we was going to push after my bet. He played this hand 100% different than he did any other hand the whole tourney (we started at the same table and got moved together the whole time, him always being on my left).

But your right, I was going broke no matter what. Oh and to all that said why 4x? Because I knew he was calling no matter what I raised except if I bet like half my stack. And I gave him a walk probably about 65% of the time when it was folded to us in the blinds.

You didn't bet the turn..You checked..again...when you made the nut flush..

But yes, if he bet almost his whole range when checked to, I like checking the flop with the intention of C/RAI, because I don't think stacks are that deep that it would be an overbet
