Bet a bit more on the flop ($1.75-$2) and the turn ($3.50-$4)

I would have raised the turn again

As played though I shove the river.

Bet $2 on the flop.

Bet $3.5 on the turn. Shove when he minraises.

Shove the river.

Lol, ok the flop bet was small to generate action. But yes I should try to get paid for the hand. I probably could have bet more on the flop which would have put my turn bet in your suggested range. I called the minraise on the turn because I was pretty sure he had the straight. His check minraise seemed to indicate this. And, if he does not have the straight my show of weakness by just calling might get another bet out of him on the river. Do you really push to a minraise here if you put them on the straight?

Same thing, do you raise the turn if you put him on a straight?

I would never fold this. If you think he has QJ and not T9, 89, 88, 99, AT, etc... then I guess just call and save the $7. Im rarely if ever folding a set, and since he didnt improve after the flop, Im not folding this one.

Yeah, you are probably right. It was funny though. I really knew he had a straight, you know how you have that feeling? It was the minraise on the turn that convinced me. By the way, he did have QJ and I was not good enough to lay it down. Like you say he could have had two pair or a lower set.

I guess if you're 100% sure, you can make the fold on the river. But what you have to ask yourself is 'would he only min raise on the turn with the nuts? or with another strong hand that you crush.'

Btw, note how horrible his turn raise is. I think you played the hand fine other than whats been discussed.

Agreed, also I like another BB there preflop. It makes a huge difference by the time you get to the turn.

did someone create some gimmick accounts lately? we've got one guy shoving every turn and posting play money hands and another guy trying to fold sets

FWIW, I am still 90% convinced that you're a gimmick account.

FCPNLTHECG forum rules: we don't fold sets unless we somehow, inexplicably, wind up at the river with four to a straight or four to a flush and we're 4+ buyins deep and facing a shove from the tightest player at the table. When that specfic situation occurs, we fold our set like .... well ..... hmmmm ... I can't fold a set.
