Hi, all.
I've been reading about people playing on Cake Poker quite a lot recently and was wondering if I should sign up there.
The main reason for doing so would be to exploit the RakeBack. I have TexasHoldEm already for that, but can't get money transferred to me on there so am just giving up, really. How would the RakeBack work for me, and how does it work? I usually 4-table $10NLHE and put in around 500 hands a day, I think.
Also, I have PokerAce HUD and PokerTracker. Will these work with CakePoker?
What's the play like there?
Are there any other benefits/ flaws I should know about?
Many thanks.
Zach.

Haven't played there yet, but I can get you the rakeback if you like. (PM obv)

Been thinking about starting to play there though, cause I hear good things. (About the donkeys.)

Can I get rakeback on a existing account?

LOL... Always the first question... I doubt it. Sites just don't do that.

And for everyone else. If you ever want rakeback... Figure that out BEFORE you make an account. You don't know how many times people do it backwards and then it's too late.

no doubt this thread will be subsequently swamped through rotters offering their various services.

Suited_Up was first, and helped me out with TexasHoldEm (although I doubt he remembers), so if I was to do RakeBack, I'd go through him.
How often is Rakeback credited to the player's account?

Nah I remember... One of the many who wants a transfer, lol. I'd do em if I had money there yet.

I've played a bit on Cake, I would recommend playing some of the freerolls to see if you like the interface.

Play is exceptionally soft and I have managed to make a few $ playing them. Nothing huge yet, but I'm working on it. I have only played a little bit of ring there and found the lower limits to be equally bad.

Technically you are not allowed RB but a simple IP address refresh and email change and hey presto you can get rake back again. You just need a bit of ingenuity.

Well I suppose if you wanna go that route, lol.
cardcore
cake is sooooooooooooooo soft, definitely play there if you cant play on texasholdem.com smile.gif

not to hijack the thread, but we are adding epassporte very very soon

but yes, high rakeback there, SOFT SOFT SOFT games, the software is kinda buggy tho
Wingman008
For cake poker the rakeback is credited once a month on the 5th.

I think someone asked that.
tskillz187
I hated Cake. No resizeable tables, the worst software I've ever seen, etc. The play was pretty bad. The thing I didn't like about the rakeback was as you clear the 100% deposit bonus, it takes away from your rakeback first, that annoyed me and I got out.

That's pretty standard.

This is probably a dumb question, but how does rakeback work? Why would site be willing to give part of the rake back to the players, this has never made any sense to me.

First off, to bring players in.

They pay affiliates to bring them players, so the affiliates give up some of that equity, figuring that giving you rakeback is better and more appealing than giving you nothing.

Though there are a lot of affiliates who just work off normal referral links and don't give the player anything back.

And secondly, to keep the players I would assume. I would think that players would rather play somewhere that they are getting money back from, rather than somewhere they're not, especially if it's not one of the big 2 rooms.

60-70% of something is better than 100% of nothing.

Dear Josh,
So I heard from Matt that you are giving away money on Cake? I think I'll start with like $2k and see how I like it, and if I need more I'll hit you up again. Transfer whenever is good for you, thanks for the money!

Why is Cake more soft that tilt or stars?

and don't say cake is soft or you can't eat it or something like that.

So a question I have always had, this seems as good of a place as any to ask.

I used Poker Source Online for Party Poker a long time ago. I think I remember hearing you can't do PSO and rakeback, is that correct? Which is more cost effective to use?

Thanks in advance for answering a donks question.

Pokertracker doesn't work with Cake. Take a look on the PT forums, there's a long thread with members arguing with Cake support staff about the merrits of PT. Cake's argument is that they want an even playing field for all their players and see tools like PT as cheating.

Rakeback by farrrr.

You get money back for life instead of a chipset or GC or something.

But yeah, once you're linked to an affiliate for PSO, you can't add rakeback.

TRUE DAT! If it isn't a FREE feature provided by the site, it's bs cheating... If you keep track of those numbers and notes on your own, grats, but I doubt you would ever be able, especially multitabling... it's an aide and it's cheating

Spoken by someone who can't afford 55$ for PT and $25 for AHUD?

yeh I actually like the fact that there's no patracker/hud allowed because I only 1-3 table anyways so I'm always looking at tendencies and don't really need the numbers. It also might discourage better people from playing, although their poor software and hh formats do that as well. I wish there were more sites like Cake around that are easy to deposit on(i wish Prima and texasholdem.com took epass) that can challenge the big two sites for traffic(and also aren't scandalous like UB/AP). It would be good for online poker and for players no matter what stakes they are playing. Any methods sites use that can attract fish are usually good and Cake is on the same network as sportsbook.com(I think) so you'll have the occasional bettor who doesn't know much about poker jump in and play. I hope Texasholdem.com gets big and is as soft smile.gif.

I agree with why the site is probably so soft. It was always that way with Pacific too. And Seth said somewhere that Epass was coming soon. Might've been in this thread actually, lol.

Finished 2nd in a small PL Omaha hi/lo tourn. there today. The play was mind-numbingly bad. I shove river with nut flush + 2nd nut low. Guy who has me covered calls with..........a pair of queens. Above avg. stacks too.

there is a converter from Cake format to Stars format for HHs to store on PT, but HUD wont work, youll have to open the db manually and find players.
