Same greek game as before, so we are playing .25-.50

Stacks

Hero (SB) - 28

Villain (Button) - 21

BB - 60

Hero is dealt K icon_suit_diamond.gif K icon_suit_club.gif .

It folds to the button who raises to 1.75. I smooth call. The BB also calls.

I check a flop of 10 icon_suit_club.gif 7 icon_suit_club.gif 9 icon_suit_heart.gif . BB and button both check as well.

The turn brings the the dreaded 6 icon_suit_heart.gif so I check again, BB checks and the button bets 3.25.

I elect to just call and the BB folds.

The river is the Q icon_suit_spade.gif and i check again. Button again fires, this time for 5. Hero?

( By the way, I am aware that i played this pot completely terrible. I guess i just forgot how to play poker for a minute haha. Just curious how whether or not i should call the river. )

Why call the turn? What river would make you feel safe?
Perhaps C-bet the flop against just two, but personal I give up on it.
I'd call the river, though. Was pretty much the best blank that could come.

Are you thinking about folding the river?

I'd fold the turn just so I wouldn't have to show a mangled KK down.

That said the buttons line is an 8 or air to me. With more emphasis on air.

If I'm the button, I bet that flop with an 8 every time. I mean, that's a no brainer you raise w/ an 8 and get

a flop like that gogogo.

Dam. Now I think I talked myself into a river call.

SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PLAY LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I am considering folding.

Please, please, please reraise (to about $5) preflop. Don't ever slowplay large pocket pairs in a live micro limit cash game, especially when you'll be out of position the rest of the hand.

Everything changes from there.

I don't hateee smooth calling preflop to a button raise in an effort to balance our ranges. It also helps if button is aggressive so we can ship our stack in there. Just know that when you smooth call you're losing value and inviting big blind to come into the hand which can prove problem some, especially on coordinated boards.

I think playing this hand standard would be the best. I'd reraise to $4.25 preflop and bet about 2/3rd pot on the flop.

The way you played this hand I'd fold the turn and curse myself. You're not going to get much action unless you're beat. Check/calling the whole way with a high pair is so gross.

Edit: 4.25 maybe a little small, 4.75-5.25 would be a good amount to 3bet.

Haha yeah i felt pretty filthy check calling.

I actually think you played the hand kind of poorly.
Reraise preflop. Lead flop.
Why call the turn? There is no river that can make you feel ok, and you will most likely be faced with another/larger bet.
