Villain is 68/8 over about 50 hands. I have $44 left on the flop and he covers. If I have 0% fold equity I need 42% showdown equity.

What is his range for donkbetting the flop? What is my equity against that range with various pairs? Will he fold anything?

Which pairs do you fold, call or shove with?

Just as a reference:

If he has AhKh I should shove any pair, but it's close.
If he has KdQh I should shove any pair and it's not close.
If he has a flush I should fold any pair and it's not close.
If he has a hand like 7h8d (very unlikely) I'm WA/WB depending on if I have an overpair or underpair.
If he has AhXd I should fold (although it's close if my pair is higher than his X).
If he has a set I should fold regardless.

BTW, this assumes no fold equity.

If I have 88+ I shove(usually), if I have 55 or lower I fold.

That's where I would usually think to draw the line, but I guess my main question is, how much equity difference is there between 22 and JJ (or KK) here?

The only real difference comes against 67s or a set (and it's a fold against a set with any pair).

I've posted numerous times about how I think donkbets are usually very strong or they are very weak, and that I'm in the habit of raising them almost blind. I just didn't expect it on this flop.

I didn't know if he would bet/call or bet/fold AQ, or if he would c/c A4s, or whether he would check a flush, or lead a set. He essentially coldcalled a raise and a reraise not closing the action, but he's a 68/8 anyway so he probably didn't even notice.

I consider donk bet weak when it is less than 3/4 size of pot. But when BB is the only person that didn't raise pf and he donks into two, that's confusing, especially on such a scary board. The difference between 22 and JJ are when he has PPs as well I guess. I'm not gonna lie I answered kind of quickly the first time, I'll think about it more.

Very interesting topic.

Where I am in my game right now, in this specific situation (pocket underpair + potentially bad flush draw) I usually (play JJ and QQ fast and give up on anything else) or (give up with all pairs - KK). This all depends on how interested villain is in the flop, fold equity, and my impression of them. Too often villain flips up 2p/a set/made flush and I'm in serious trouble.

In general I play these situations really fast, on the basis that either the flush draw is live or I have the best hand. With 77 on a monotone T62 flop I'll usually bet/raise/shove for this reason. I have good equity unless they have either a made overflush, or top pair with a suited kicker. ( BTW I play kinda aggro postflop)

This is different because it's 3-bet preflop three ways, and it's a crazy player leading out.
