Watching a lot of the great internet tournament players at work has lead me to wonder whether my policy or raise/folding when folded to in the SB is the correct one.
I mean, if i have 15BBs left and the BB is aggro i'll limp with aces an stuff, but in general i'm raise folding all the time.
I play $10 tourneys and under.
So, my question is, why do people limp from the SB? From my perspective atm raising>>>limping.
I know there are a lot of factors that decide your play, so feel free to discuss them and ask more questions.

In general limping if you know you are going to get raised and cant continue is a bad play.
Limping if you are planning on continuing if the BB raises and you think you can out play him is not a bad play.
Many times it would be better to limp in and bet any flop than to raise and have to play a pot out of position.
It all comes down to one thing though.. just like all of poker... it depends on your opponent

I'll limp suited connectors and midpairs late in a tourney where they probably dont really have the implied odds to. However, if you just get called you can hit a monster, and if you have to fold it sets up a limp/reraise all in for later.

The reason most of the internet pros you are referring to are saying limp is because they don't like bloating a pot OOP where they aren't quite sure where they are at..People play much looser in BvB battles typically, so identifying an opponent's range becomes tougher..

With 15BB I'll open-limp in the SB with hands that have some value if they hit a flop but I'm only raising true raising hands (hands that I'd be willing to go to war with if the BB pushes back). The reason why my raising range is so tight with that stack size is because SB open-raises are typically perceived as steals and is an invitation to the BB to resteal. Raise-folding with 15BB is bad (worse than limp-folding). That, and I don't want to get called and then play a larger pot OOP without any idea where I stand, as others have mentioned.
