in reference to jiri tlusty who was mentioned earlier - he is absolutely tearing it up with a stat line of 16g 18a 34p in his past 15 games in the ahl! the fact he hasnt been called up to the leafs already pretty much say it all

Wow, that is ridiculous.

He needs to get some top 6 minutes in the NHL down the stretch to see what he can do/fire him up for next year.
ajs510
At the game right now, no Matthias and no Mcflickier tonight. Either injured or scratched, we got here late so I missed the announcement.

Tlusty is so fast, but he has this habit of trying to do everything himself, doesn't use his teammates much. I get kind of an Afinogenov vibe from him. He's got some sick skills with the puck though, that much is obvious.

Repik is a FAST kid, got a nice mini-breakaway midway through the 1st but lost an edge on his way by the defenseman to the net and couldn't convert.
ajs510
I take it back about Tlusty, he just made a sick little pass for Torontos 3rd goal.
ajs510
Sweet no look pass from Repik for Rochesters 2nd of the game, he's been the best player on the ice tonight for the Amerks.
ajs510
I'm liking what I see from this Mike Duco kid, never heard of him before but he's everywhere, plays with a lot of heart and has great wheels. Kind of a little guy though.

Duco is great, there has been a lot of questions why he hasn't gotten a chance in Florida yet. Mickflikier and Matthias both out with minor injuries.

Is he signed to a two way deal, or only to an AHL contract? He really impressed me.

96% sure it's a two-way deal, but I'd have to double check that to be 100% sure.

it's like clockwork. he scores a goal, then he's sent down.

WTF was that.

We set you up perfectly and what happened at the end...????

Ah I'm not sure, I was watching the game and kinda saw it coming. Oh well, I've been indulging in many a beer since my 21st and things just don't seem as bad while doing so.

Well we got it done last night, just didn't get any help from Montreal. Montreal's next 3 games are ridiculous. Sucks.

The Rangers have a pretty tough schedule to close the year... Carolina, Boston, Montreal and Philly twice, so you guys need to keep winning games!
serge
i think you guys are missing a point..

At this time of the year, i think its tougher to play teams like Toronto,Ottawa and Atlanta..Then it is Boston, Washington and New Jersey.

FWIW as of last week the Leafs had something like one or 2 pts less than Boston post all star break..

Ottawa is 10-4 in their last 14. icon_eek.gif

They've cooled down a bit lately, 1-3 in their last four, but they went on a 9-1 stretch before that. They're playing good hockey right now, and can beat almost any team in the league, at this point.

Eh, they won't have any problem getting motivated for a game vs the Habs, though. Let's be optimistic here.

Not that I don't agree that the bubble has burst on the Sens' run but it was the double minor -> 2x goals that did them in. If Alfie had not hit the crossbar it would have been a completely different game.

I pretty much remember cringing when that shot came off the post. Definitely could have been a different game.

Sunday's game against Pittsburgh could be the season.

It might just be helpful that Florida will be playing a 3pm home game against a Penguins team that will have just finished playing a 7pm game the night before @ Carolina. Brutal stuff.

As did I icon_biggrin.gif

That hit on Malkin by Ballard really jump started the team. And that goal by McCabe at the end of the period? Beautiful.
Zach6668
I wasn't paying super good attention, but the Malkin hit seemed fine.

Internet sucked balls, so I didn't see anything after it.

Obv the Cambell or Mclean thing (which was is?) didn't have an effect.

Dunno, surpsoed the Cats dont suck balls.

Yeah super clean hit as I looked at it, but still irked that Ballard goes for that hip check every single time he gets a chance to, it's coming to a point where one time he's going to make one of those, it's going to be boarderline clean, someone will get badly injured and he'll receive a suspension/fine/etc.

I kind of like the Panthers, mainly because my buddy Speed Limit roots for the B's with me when he can. It's too bad if Florida makes it they'll be playing us, but I'd like to see them get there anyway.

I love the Panthers this week cause I want the Rangers to finish in 9th place where they belong.

Flyers and Panthers tonight, keep up the playoff hopes with a win booooys!
Zach6668
You guys are in trouble.

Rangers play their last 2 games against the Flyers though, so it's possible that they lose their last 2, while you guys need to win your last 2.
Zach6668
The Habs could lose-out too with their injury problems. Bruins and Pens for them.

I am sorry you had to endure that roller coaster. as a south florida sports fanatic, I wish I could say I was surprised but I am not. This is a crap franchise.....with little support. Why they ever put hockey in south florida in the first place is a mystery. Still, it would have been really nice if they had made the playoffs for the few diehards out there.

I gave up on the Panthers after the lockout....but I might have joined the bandwagon for some playoff hockey (which is always great).

Oh well. Maybe I will hit a game or two next year. Good seats for cheap.

I'm so jealous. I would gladly live in a city with a crappy NHL team, just to have season tickets for dirt cheap and go see every single home game.

you would lovvvvvve Miami then. Not only can you sit center ice third row for the Panthers for 50 bucks a seat......but my wife and I go sit in the VIP seats on the first base line for Marlins games (roughly 20 ft from the first baseman) for about 70 bucks a ticket. You get to walk by the dugout and peer into the batting cages and you get waitress service and everything. And the Marlins are actually ok to pretty good most years.

Unfortunately, courtside seats for the Heat are uber-expensive. 1000 bucks a seat at a minimum.

Its not fair...WHY WHY...Identical records with the poutine boys, and they miss the playoffs..They ARE the better team..They HAVE the better players..

They dont eat poutine..WHY couldnt we be getting ready for Florida vs Boston...WHY WHY WHY..

Report out of Russia, Richard Zednik signs with the Russian club Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. 2 Year deal.
Oh well, he was a fan favorite and some of his highlight reel goals this year were amazing.

Interesting, consider he's under contract with Florida until July 1st, isn't he?

Weird that he'd give up on the NHL like that, there'd certainly be a place for him in the league next year, and several years after that.
