Posted: Thu Mar 06, 2008 2:12 pm Post subject: 2008-09 Season - final decisions

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the 2008-09 season - the breakdown will be as follows:

We will have 2 conferences with 5 divisions of 2.

Each division will play a balanced schedule of 40 games vs their own division. In other words, they will play each other 40 times. At the 40 game mark, all division winners will then advance to pool A with all division runner-ups advancing to pool B.

All pool A teams must then release any player who has not reached the age of 22, while all pool B teams must release any player who has a salary above $7.

Each pool will then meet at a dispersal draft held annually on December 24th. (site tbd).

Following the draft(s) the 2 pools will then play a 10 game balanced schedule to determine playoff rankings. The teams will be ranked 1 thru 10 and will play in reverse order the B pool teams ranked 10 thru 1 in best of 5 elimination rounds.

Following the first round of playoffs the remaining 10 teams will be re-seeded with the 10 eliminated teams each choosing 1 player from an unprotected list of 20 each team has submitted.

The remaining 10 teams will play in a best of 7 quarter final round with the top 4 advancing to the semi-finals. The series which takes the longest will see both teams eliminated and each of these teams will surrender their first round pick to the 19th and 20th place teams respectively.

During these playoffs the pool B teams will playoff in a balanced round robin with the best overall team advancing to the finals to face the eventual pool A winner in the Finals.

In addition during each playoff round, the winner shall be allowed to "trade" any player from his opponent for any player on his own team, provided his current salary is greater than or equal to the player he is trading for.

So I guess the commish has been working the last week on this new format and it explains why he hasn't had time to post congratulations to the Mustangs?

Out of the five games, he did post in the one and only game thread that he won.

lol on the rule changes btw. It was funny

There should be a rule against inheriting a team, then trading away the current NHL Rookie Scoring leader.

Or a rule against mental retardation. Either or.

Interesting...............and hardly necessary.

In the very least...........he kept in contact with the league and put in lineups.

How is this in anyway connected? I took a job that paid well and offered an incredibly unique experience in the Arctic. Would a reasonable person quit that job so they could get regular internet access in order to maintain their AHL team? I could understand you trying to use that as some sort of shot at me if I just dropped out without paying or something. And again, your latter argument, although you seem to imply it is, is in no way connected to the first one. It's like me proposing that a fine be levied against a neighbour for air pollution, and you saying "that's not necessary....in the very least he shovels his walks in accordance with city bylaws."

45 Days. And hey, what do you do for TD? I'm working as a mutual fund coordinator until I head out West, I saw a TD dealer rep with a last name that looked like yours (I don't know what yours is offhand, Bogesiem or something lol?)... I wanted to have our dealer services guys fax "DUSTIN PENNER RULES" to the office fax number on the page, but if it wasn't you it might have been slightly inappropriate lol.

how is in in any way connected?

the team you are insulting was RELIABLE.

You could not give us as much as a phone call and left the league not even knowing if there was an owner involved. Which of course has NOTHING to do with internet access.

You return and post for the first time in months simply slinging insults at an owner in a league which you wanted to get back in to.

Burning bridges is never a good thing Nate.

that explains why you go into the AHL forum with a personal attack on one of the owners.
goose
edit: I had posted a retort, but really, it's Darrell lol.

I won't bother anyone in the AHL with comments about how they manage their team, or post on your boards anymore okay Darrell? I'm sorry to have offended your sensibilities.

lol why does this bother you so much? Obviously I was 85% joking. If you haven't noticed, there's quite a bit of flaming surrounding the AHL. People asking if they've dropped on their heads as kids etc. etc....

LOL I just looked and you deleted it. Hahaha is this your new girlfriend I'm 'attacking' or something? Seriously, it's an internet message board, I was having some fun, you're a pretty sensitive guy about this kind of thing eh?

You just don't get it do you Nate.
goose
Ah you beat me to it before I edited mine. No apparently I don't get it. Sorry.
