Just thought that people might find it amusing to comment on the turn action here.

1st in the tourney is $20,000 and 2nd is $12,000. First to two matches wins. I'm playing as my usual aggressive self, running at about 50/35/5.2. For some annoying reason, I can't find bugstud's stats in my database, but he's playing about 65/45/1.7 HU (postflop aggression exactly accurate, other stats somewhat of a guess). In other annoying news, apparently every HH converter around is terribly confused by the private tourneys on stars so here's an unconverted HH.

To make it easier on you, I turned the NFD with 3 hearts in my hand, there are no other flush draws available, the pot is 540 going into the turn and bugstud has 1425 left in his stack.

I probably fire again. He hasn't given you any reason to think you're behind yet - if he had a straight or 2p you should have found out on the flop. I probably lead for about 350 and see what he does.

That's a good rainbow flop to trap tho. I don't know what he can be calling flop with other than two pairs or set or nuts unless you guys play top pair in HU.

Just to give some idea of how LAG the game was.

Well, that hand you posted is a pretty ridiculous spot. It was my 2nd 4-bet in 45 minutes, so he was putting me 100% on AA and probably thought he could steal on the turn if a straight or flush card came. It was the biggest mistake bugstud made the whole tourney and far and away the worst he got it in though.

Also, if you're leading for 350, what are your plans for dealing with a shove? Are you bet/folding or bet/calling.

My problems with this hand:

- Don't want to give a free card to a pair+gutshot hand or some thing like it.
- Don't want to bet, get raised and have to think about folding an overpair and nfd.

My first instinct is to check/shove.

I hate bet/fold because he can probably shove with worse hands/draws.
I can't see that c/c is right with the stacks as they are. C/c turn, C/f river ui has to be way too weak, and if we are c/c both streets regardless it's clearly better to c/r.

I think it's pretty close between bet/call and check/shove.

Ding ding ding! The thing is that when I first check, it looks really weak and he has to fire everything including AKJ, KJx, KQJ, QTx, etc., so I get max value when I'm ahead. OTOH, when I check/raise, it looks really strong and he's probably going to have to fold several hands that he has the odds to call with. He can't really check behind the small two pairs that he'll have to fold to a raise, so I'm also getting fold equity against hands that I'm beating. It works two ways.

Comparing it to bet/calling, I think I get called less often while also getting dead money from some hands that would fold to a lead. The only thing that hurts me is when he takes a free card, but since I'm C-betting so often after 3-betting preflop, I think the weakness implicit there forces him to bet the turn a ton.
