Full Version: Any Discussion On Limit Omah Hi?

I've read through a few posts and everything seems to be PLO.

I deal a Limit Omaha game, but lately the boss has been putting me in for the house, with a portion of the winnings going to me.

The game is very loose and I generally win by playing Semi Loose Passive. There are few maniacs though who raise every hand, every street. I find myself chasing these guys down with marginal hands because I know they usually have junk. This tends to not work out.

I don't really have any questions right now, but just wondering if there is any knowledge/interest in Limit Omaha around here. If there is, I'll start writing down hands and posting them.

There's not much interest in the omaha forum in general, but ya - post hands for sure.

In a game like that it seems like the best way to win would be to play your drawy hands strong (wraps/flushes/combos, etc) since you know they'll be filling the pot anyway. I would think big pair hand values drop and draw hand values go up (just intuitively)

I'm interested I just play more 08 than straight high only, but you, Bud, and Simo have been very helpful in adjusting my game

Just wanted to make sure you guys know you are appreciated! blush.gif

Edit: I almost forgot IGGY!

Played last night, no real interesting hands, but here's one to show you the attitude of the players. It's 2-5 Spread Limit on Wednesdays. (5-10 on Fridays)

This is about the 2nd hand and these are the more tight players of the group. I say tight... they'll make loose calls but if they raise, 99% of the time, they've got it.

Live Limit Omaha High, $2-$5 SL (10 handed)

Preflop:
Hero is MP3 with K icon_suit_club.gif , K icon_suit_spade.gif , 2 icon_suit_spade.gif , 3 icon_suit_heart.gif .
UTG calls $2, UTG+1 calls $2, 1 fold, MP2 calls $2, Hero calls $2, 1 fold, 1 fold, 1 fold, Button calls $2, BB checks.

Flop: ($10) Q icon_suit_diamond.gif , Q icon_suit_heart.gif , 7 icon_suit_spade.gif (6 players)
BB bets $2, UTG calls $2, UTG+1 raises to $7, MP2 folds, Hero folds

Obviously I hit the two outer on the turn when a red K hits.

I had been discussing books with the player to my right, and after the hand I mention that the K would've helped me. A player across the table says "You folded Kings there?" I say "yea, I'm drawing to 2 outs getting 3-1, sounds like a bad call to me." "The only thing I beat is a single 7 and he wouldn't have raised without a Q or 77 there." So, the other guy says I have no business at the table if I won't make that call. Hmmmm... I bought in for $150 and cashed out $400.

You can make a fortune in Limit omaha hi by playing only button and co and fold everything else.

Details man, details!

I'm hoping you mean something besides raising in position.

Your fold with the KK on the QQ7 board is uber-standard.

I was going to try to start a 2/4 limit omaha list of interest at my local casino this weekend. The only PLO game they have is a 2/5 PLO. I hear a lot of talk around the different tables that they would like to try and play but the vast majority of them don't usually play minimum of $500. I thought I could make some good bank with all the newbies but didn't end up makin the trip down there.
