I probably don't 3 bet him on the river. I guess he's shortstacked so it's not too bad, but you really shouldn't make a habit out of doing this with a straight on a paired board with a 3 flush because you're really only gonna get called when you're losing.

Yep. Learned that the hard way in this hand. That's the only reason I did it, I thought he was trying to steal it away from me because he was short.

If he's trying to steal from you, then why are you reraising? He can't call you if he doesn't have a hand, and any hand that he'd raise with and then call your 3-bet is one that you probably can't beat.

I mean, it's not like you need to rebluff him here since you have a really strong hand. Just call and see what he's got.

I wish I had done that. I wanted to stack off against him due to the strength of my hand.

Yes, you have a strong hand, but you also have pretty much the weakest strong hand available on that board. The only strong hand that you do beat is naked trip 8s.

I was actually putting him on that. Figured he was slow playing it.

This may be really weak but I check behind on the river against a complete unknown who limped then c/c flop and turn on a connected board like that. Definitely not reraising. What did he end up having? Feels like a FH.

He ended up hitting a flush with Ks7s.
