I like Jersey at 11-1...For long shots Washington at 33-1 is good...I rather bet these on a trading site, as I think Washinton may have a shot to win a few rounds, but not win the Cup..That way you can really profit without them winning the Cup..

I also like the Leafs at 150-1, as if they made the playoffs , it will certainly go down to like 25 or 30 to 1

So, avatar and/or sig bet (need to decide) for all the 16 playoff teams. If you pick a team that doesn't make the playoffs then you're are not involved. And, maybe the duration of the required avatar/sig decided by the winner will last until the first training camp opens?

I was thinking maybe just force the losers to have their avatar be the logo of the stanley cup winner. Those with > 1000 posts have a forum title of 'NHL's Best Team' or something.

well honestly I don't even know if all the people before that picked are fans of those teams. Do we even have fans of all the teams (that are likely to make the playoffs) that post here regularly? It doesn't matter to me how we do it. If others feel differently then speak up but for now I guess first come first serve.

I'd say the duration should depend on seeding a bit. So having a division winner isn't as big of an advantage to someone who has an eighth seed.

well basically each team has one forum member behind it. If their team wins, they tell the other 15 people in the bet what to make their signature/avatar/forum title (undecided as to what exactly it will be) for an unyet decided length of time.

Unfortunately, someone already has the ducks, but maybe you could convince them to go with another team since you're a ducks fan and (I believe) that person is not.

Ok, so if your team loses in the playoffs do you have to wait till the Stanley Cup is decided, then have the Avatar/Title. Or once your team gets knocked out you have to have the Avatar/Title of the team that defeated yours, and if they are eliminated the team that defeats them, so forth till the Cup Champ is crowned

I think it's be cool to have it so that the length of time your avatar and forum title (everyone ok with this being avatar and forum title bet?) are decided for you is dependent on the ranking of the teams in the playoffs.

So, if a division winner gets the cup, everyone's avatar and title are changed for two weeks, 4-6 gets the cup and the duration is one month, and 7-8 means a two month duration. (Or, possibly same setup but 1-6, 7-12 and 13-16 by points overall)
