Have only played 5-6 hands on this table so there were very little reads to go on. All I knew was that the BB liked to play marginal hands against preflop raises.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (8 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG ($0.61)
UTG+1 ($0.67)
MP1 ($2.88)
Hero ($3.86)
CO ($5.87)
Button ($3.68)
SB ($0.58)
BB ($9.89)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J, A.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.02, MP1 calls $0.02, Hero raises to $0.1, 2 folds, SB calls $0.09, BB calls $0.08, UTG+1 calls $0.08, MP1 folds.

Flop: ($0.42) 8, Q, A (4 players)
SB checks, BB bets $0.04, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises to $0.34, SB raises to $0.48, BB calls $0.44, Hero calls $0.14.

Turn: ($1.86) 2 (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.9, BB calls $0.90.

River: ($3.66) Q (3 players)
BB bets $1.32, Hero?

I didn't know what the SB had. He could easily have a flush, a draw, or some sort A with his short stack. I wasn't too concerned though, and I was pretty much pot committed by that point once the BB called. When he checked the turn I figured he had the K of clubs and was chasing, but his river bet threw me off. only hand i could put him on was KQ with the K of clubs, or, though I didn't think about this at the time, a set that was chasing a boat. Standard fold?

And any critizism on my play is welcome. I'm always trying to improve on my play and I know I have alot to learn.
SCS
I would have checked behind on the turn.

As played, with the sb allin, the bb isn't bluffing so I'd probably fold on the river.

This is a very good first post. Zach will be proud.

You need to bet more on the turn, like 1.20-1.35, or I don't mind checking behind for pot control as you have the second nut flush draw, but I have the half the pot bet size. River is meh, I guess I look him up here a lot, but it if unlikely he is bluffing with the SB all in.
krup24
agree with cwik. your turn bet is too small. bet closer to 3/4 of the pot here if your gonna bet or simply check behind.

good first post, welcome.

I think I call it out of frustration.

Thanks for the posts guys. I know that the turn bet was small. Betting big portions of my stack to get out draws is something that I'm trying to get comfortable doing. Since I'm just playing with $5 that pokerstars gave me (since then built it up to $37), I've been more on the cautious side.

One thing since I know there are rules about posting the results of a hand. Is there a point at when I can post what the BB had to see if there was a way I could of put him on that hand? Or are results an absolute no in strategy forums?

I think that i pop the flop even higher, to like $.60 or .65. It always takes that extra umph to clear out people at these stakes.

Results are fine, but just post them after

1) There has been adequate discussion
2) A day or two after the hand has been posted.

I'm confused... what happened to the SB after check / re-raising the flop, he just disappears on the turn? On the turn he doesn't check, fold, bet, nothing. He's just gone!
ZOMG... WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM?

EDIT - LOL Nevermind, didn't realize he was all in

But with the way it's played, a larger turn bet... you are going to be committed, I call this and then take the stress ball I keep next to the computer for just this reason and launch it across the room, breaking something.

Results: I folded the hand after putting the BB on KcQx

SB shows Kd10c

BB shows A 5 spades

The BB lost his stack in the next hour from stupid plays like that one.
