All suggestions on game, location and times lets discuss...


We will pit the AHL vs FCHL and all other participants will be divided up accordingly.

I vote for a summer ball hockey event...but just my preference..

I vote for fall ball hockey.

I'll play either, but I prefer ice hockey.

We shoudl do this yearly and have a trophy for the winning league.

If Ice Hockey is an option then that would be my vote. I don't think we'll get enough guys from the AHL and FCHL.

I think regardless of whether we play ice or ball, it will be hard to get a lot of the guys in the FCHL, since a lot are located in the US, Britain, BC, and Alberta.

If it's any time past July, I'm in. Would prefer roller hockey over the one where you wear shoes, then again, I'm not in either league and I'm just inviting myself.

You can be on FCHL since we each know Deiter and we have less guys.

Thing is, most people think your talking about protecting him from the opposition. Little do they know, your talking about other FCHL owners on his own team.

Nope. He's not an FCHL member. It's not allowed.

If you want to expand the league to let him in, you're free to do that.

I'm down for ice hockey in TO.

I would prefer Ice since the AHL would be a lock to win. If it starts up, I am in.

Here's my thinking: I appreciate that not everyone skates. BUT... this is a hockey forum, and our passion is for ice hockey. So let's get out there and play the game we love to watch.... and butcher it up mercilessly. But we'd have a great time!
Like I said, I will take care of finding the ice... I have a connection, and can probably arrange Lakeshore Lions (The Leafs low budget ghetto practice facility). If there isn't two goalies, I will find them. Let's put together lists for both teams and see where we're at. I can find the necessary roster fill out, or each team can provide their own. If the FCHL is shortstaffed, I'll play for them.

I would love to play...I haven't played on ice in years. My feet grew a lot in high school and now I can't find ice skates that fit. I had a pair of inline skates and used to play street hockey with some friends. If I can find a pair of skates I'd play. Then there's the little problem of not having a passport.....

I'm going to have to get my hands on some rental skates and goalie pads, since I currently own neither (haven't played in 15 years). I'll also need a passport, which will probably take a few months, but I needed to do that anyway so better sooner than later.

Only issues I'm seeing between me and playing this game. What kind of timeframe are you Toronto boys looking at?

We should get Fryer in on this, although he's not AHL or FCHL, he's about the only real hockey player the FCP Hockey Forum has (to my knowledge).

I would love to play, however I dont have any equipment...I am planning on buying new skates anyways though..What else would i need...I have probably some old elbow pads and maybe a helmet and jock strap...

Is early September the timeline? That would be best, maybe we could even hold our FCHL draft in Toronto this year.

I picked In-line because its what I'm best at, but I would probably play anything heh. Although last time I was on skates it was pretty ugly, way too out of shape and not skating for a few years = winded after 20 second shifts lol!

Serge, I have some old equipment lying around such as pants, elbow and shoulder pads. No shin pads since they broke. So check with me before you do anything. Also make sure the AHL gets Gothic to play.

Oh ya also 3 composite sticks to choose from if you shot left.

I wear a size 15 U.S. shoe.....what size does that make me in skates? I know it depends on the brand.

I believe that's 'canoe' size.


I'm definitely in. I'd just need enough notice to make plans (i.e. put on the foil). I played minor hockey at the Lakeshore Arena I believe. Is that the Long Branch area Chris? If so, that's where I played on a team with Shanahan one year. We played another year on the Etobicoke Canadiens out of Centennial.

I started following hockey seriously in my early twenties and never had a chance to play. Growing up in NY is far different than growing up in Canada hockey wise. Since my overall skating ability is extremly limited, I volunteer for backup goalie to Ollie (Rinswun) with the hope of playing a period. Otherwise, I can handle the coaching duties and the after the game party.

I will be there. How about 2 games? Ice hockey and ball hockey. Since a lot of guys are coming in from far away, I am sure we have enough time to get 2 games going. I definetly up for a full game of ball hockey

I've got a lot going on, but I do need to make a trip to southern ontario sometime this summer, before I go to Vegas, as I'm 99% sure I'm moving there in August. So I can be flexible with the first trip, as it'll be to find a place to live, and obviously any time after I move there, I'm good to go.

I'm also expecting invites to all of the home games, etc.
