I've just gotten back into playing ring games, taking a break from Sngs and MTTs. Is this over-sized river bet a value-bet in disguise? Critique on all streets welcome. TY

I bet turn here and fold to a raise. If he calls I check behind on the river. I don't like guessing on the river and paying him off and trying to catch bluffs is risky without any read on villain.

I agree. I've been trying DN's LAG small ball aproach, but i think I've been too passive with the best hand. The pot sized river bet I've seen a lot at lower limits, usually with the best hand. Has anyone else also experienced this play? If so, what are your feelings on it.

Fold the river.

Bet the turn.
Fold to a raise or CF the river.
