How do you guys to that fancy thing where you paste a graph or chart into your message? Does it only work with certain programs?
jmbreslin
Someone has to know, I see people doing it in the goals thread all the time...

First you need to upload your picture to the internet. You can either do that on your own if you have a site, or use a hosting site like Imageshack. Once your pic is online and you have a url for it (like, http://www.imageshack.us/2343/mypic.jpg or something like that) then you just click the little image icon at the top of the page when you're posting. (it looks like a little square and is just under the 'fonts' dropdown box and says Insert Image when you hover over it) Paste your URL into that, and post, and boom you're set.

1. hit the print screen button

2. open paint and hit ctrl+v

3. crop it to size

4. save it as a .jpg file

5. open up photobucket (create a free account if you haven't already, its free)

6. upload the pic, then copy the IMG code, and paste it in the post.

Or, skip steps 1-2-3 and just right click on the graph itself, click "save as" and carry on from there.

Yeah, I just say, I always lol at the graphs posted with the entire desktop behind it, etc.

I can't seem to do that on the website I use to track my stats. And I don't know enough about this computer stuff to know why. When I right click I can get a print option, but no save or cut/paste option.

A couple more questions:
1) where's the "print screen" button?
2) what's paint?

Should be on the top right of most keyboards i think, mines above just right of F12.

Paint is a graphic modification/design program provided by microsoft, if you run on windows it should be in start>programs>accessories>paint.

Just FYI, BDC was talking about the graphing program PokerGrapher, which pulls the data from PokerTracker.

If you aren't using PokerTracker, I do strongly recommend it.

Okay, I can get up to step 3 no problem now but I can't seem to figure out how to crop the image...

*Edit: wait, I think I figured it out - but how do you get rid of all the stuff around the cropped piece so you just have what you cropped?

Hmm, it's a start...but how do you get the image directly into the post as opposed to a link?

Click on the insert image button. It's below the "fonts" dropdown box above the main message box where you type.

Yeah, you're linking to a website not the image.

On the right of that page it says "direct link". Use that.

Is this what you want?

jmbreslin
Yes, although it would be nice to have the graph fill the page without having all that white space around it. I'll play around more tonight and see if I can get it to work. This computer stuff is complicated...
