Full Version: Worst "good" Hand In Poker (sh) (5/10)
FCP Poker Forum > Poker Strategy Forum > No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
CobaltBlue
Bodog 5/10 NLHE (6-handed)

UTG $1911
MP $1847
SB $3373
Cobalt $1157

Cobalt is BB w/ 3s.gif 2s.gif. Haven't been at table long, but I'm familiar with SB. He's quite loose-aggressive and one of the best players on the site.

Pre-flop:
UTG raises to $20, MP calls, 2 folds, SB calls, Cobalt calls

Flop ($80): 2d.gif kd.gif 3d.gif (4 players)
SB bets $55, Cobalt raises to $225, 2 folds, SB calls

Turn ($530): js.gif (2 players)
SB checks, Cobalt bets $340, SB raises to $870, Cobalt folds

Standard? Better approaches?

i think its pretty standard....

the bet fold on the turn seems kinda weak, but I guess he shows up w 2 pr/flush/set often enough to warrant a fold

I like this one has played. I can't picture any other lines that you don't hate yourself after the hand for.

He re-raised the first bet, why are you not 3betting him off of his hand/all in immediately with the 2 under pair? You spent 510$ to fold the turn instead of spending 620$ on the flop in order to get him to fold or AI a pair of Kings or a Fush draw ...

I think you need to reread the HH.

Jamie Gold is bad at poker.
Cobalt is not.
I really can't see other lines for you to take here except open folding preflop smile.gif

I don't know that I play it that hard on the flop. The pot just isn't that big to begin with and how many cards can come that aren't scare cards if our raise gets called?

The worst "good hand" in poker is QJ / QT sooted, btw, IMHO.

If you're gonna get check-raised, check behind on the turn and boat up

My mistake, that's just a frustrating lay down then.
mikeysong
standard and frustrating. the only hands we're really ahead of here are Adx and KxQd, KxTd/9d

fwiw, I go broke w/a set here. It beats out a little more of villain's range.
