A lot of that depends on what country you live in.

If you're an American using the e-check option should be the easiest. It's like writing a check and the money comes straight from your bank account.

how safe is the e-check option? and how easy is it to cash out? (if that day were to ever come, LOL)

I have heard that pre-paid VISA cards or pre-paid credit cards work as well but haven't confirmed that. Does anyone know if that is true or false?

Yes..the pre-paid cards work well. Contact support@pokerstars.com to get assistance in which cards to get...they don't all work..but they will walk you through finding the correct pre-paids.

EChecks is very secure also.

My suggestion would be deposit with e-check and withdraw using a check.

I just received this e-mail from Pokerstars support team,

Hello,

Thank you for your email.

We do accept pre paid cards but unfortunately we are unable to say whether
a certain one will work with our poker site, the only way to find out is
to try I am afraid.

Although this is not an issue with you being in the USA, PokerStars will
continue to offer its services to players from the US. This new
legislation is not aimed at players and does not change the legality of
playing online poker.

We would like to reassure you that all funds held with PokerStars are
completely secure. Player deposits are held in a separate bank account so
that they remain completely isolated from all other aspects of the
business.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Regards,

Justine

"Also you can go at www.netspend.com and click on "Gift Card", then
enter your zip code and the site will give you all the locations near to your
home where you can go out and buy on of those cards. Please make sure
that this card must start with any of these 6 digits: 400765, 400766 and
438093."

This is straight from Support at Poker Stars.

Any direct US Bank ---> Poker site transaction will be entirely dependent on which bank you use since US law aimed at curtailing online poker makes banks, not customers, liable for transactions. I use epassporte because it has been very easy and reliable and despite the annoying fees.

If you do use the gift card option and find one that works, keep that card and reload it if possible, that way no more guesswork is involved.
