I am pretty sure you guys see where I am going with this...Kyle Wellwood last year went from day to day to missing 6 months...Joe Sakic the same thing..now is out at least 3 months...Toskala was supposed to miss one practice and has already missed three games...

There seems to be tons of groin injuries this year, the frustrating part is there is never a time frame..With a broken hand, they can predict almost exactly when the player will come back...

not much discussion..... kind of a no brainer.. especially if you've ever suffered a groin injury..

Bones heal. Groin injuries reoccur.

I haven't. I don't use my groin very frequently so it's not often at risk.

I'm sorry, what were we talking about?

I pull my groin area a lot. icon_frown.gif

That one is a little tougher.... as the victim of three shoulder surgeries, I have to say that I'd rather blow a knee than have a shoulder problem.... they take forever to heal, and my shoulder has never been right.....

Have to agree. I did both the hand and the groin injury. It was only rec with the groin but I basically sat out 2 months and then when I came back I was terrified to go all out and reinjure it again. I use to wake up in the middle of the night all the time because I toss and turn in my sleep and aggravate the groin. It never really felt back to normal until the next year.

Not having played too much competitive sports like some of you, the worst pain for me is back pain...I think chronic back pain affects more "normal" people than any other pain..It just doesnt go away ...Ask Mario Lemieux

Broken hand and its not even close.

I hurt my groin 8 years ago and it still bothers me when muscles get tight.

Broken finger.
Dislocated shoulder.
Dislocated kneecap (numerous times).
Back spasms and tightening.

The most intense pain was definitely the dislocated kneecap (the first time). It's the second worst pain I've ever felt falling a DISTANT 2nd behind kidney stones. The most difficult pain to function with was definitely the back pain. Until you injure your back you really have no idea how much you use it.

FYI: I've dislocated my kneecap at least 4 times now. The third time I did it the doctor drained 11 large syringes of fluid out of my knee. The only thing I could feel was the needle scraping the bone as he worked it around inside my knee.

i've dislocated my shoulder, torn the acl in my knee, and suffered a severe groin pull in my years playing rugby yet the idea of anything scraping around on a bone (unless under gen anesthic) is much more painful than those in my opinion.

for what its worth:

1. groin pull

2. shoulder dislocate

3. torn acl in knee

broken pinky 4 times
high sprain of my right ankle
dislocated left ankle
fractured metatarcil (from the ankle dislocation, they missed it)
9 concussions
burners
broken left wrist
fractured orbital bone

by far the most physical pain ever was the dislocated ankle
the concussions though, last throughout the ages, and PCS is a bastard!!
