Full Version: Serge's New Years Resolutions

serge
Just wanted to be the first to wish everyone a happy new year...We may all disagree on the merits of the success of the Leafs nation, or the individual successes of each team, however all in all we have a group of intelligent hockey fans here and I wish you all the best in the upcoming year 2008...May you and all your families have a succesful and healthy new year.

I think new years resolutions are a little stupid but here we go...We all start fresh starting tomorrow...(Only the ones that are poker and hockey related)

1. I will not get too high or too low after a Leafs regular season game...Playoffs different story

2. I will play more $50 to $100 tourneys online and hope to have at least 3 , five figure cashes.

3. I will play 50 hours a month of online poker and 15 hours of live....I will try and make $25000 this year in poker

4. I will not make any more silly prop bets, like the one where the Leafs will have more pts than the Senators.

5. I will only make intelligent and sometimes humorous posts on FCP Hockey...No deragortory or flammable posts...Even when its warranted(ie Derswick and Jackbauer)

6. I will obey and adhere to all the rules of the Leafs nation, never waivering even when the times are rough.

I may add more later..

Have a safe and happy new year everyone..

Ahhh. Thanks Serge. You do know I just post those Leafs related posts just to taunt you? It is meant as fun, at least I get a laugh out of your replies.

Happy New Year too you and may you enjoy watching the Hab's in the playoffs. smile.gif

Am I the only one who still parties like it's 1999?

Mmm, quickly, my poker/hockey goals for 2008:

1) Make lots of money from serge's silly prop bets.

2) Not be lazy and play enough hands, like it's my job (cuz it is my job).

3) Earn a 6-figure salary. I personally think I can do $100,000 very easily (despite never having a $10,000+ month, yet), but if everything goes as planned, and I move up the limits as quickly as I think I can, I think the sky is the limit, to be honest. I'll be crushed if I make less than $100,000, but I think a more reasonable number is somewhere between $150,000 and $250,000. Right now, I play 5/10 LHE Heads-Up. I know I could make $100,000 in a year just playing that, but I would like to get up to 30/60 HU on AP, depending on how the games are, maybe higher, etc. I'd also like to get my roll big enough so that I could jump into the soft 30/60 and 50/100 6-max games when I see them running.

4) When I finally get to the point where I can stand to lose a month of profit, I want to spend a lot of time and focus on a new game, dedicating a month or so to it. Maybe LO8, Razz, etc. But I need to get to the point where I don't need to grind out the bill payments, which, IMO, shouldn't take too long.

5) Spend the entire WSOP in Vegas. Last year, I was there for 17 days, and didn't want to leave. I hope to be there for the entirety of June, and maybe into July for the ME. I want to play some of the LHE events, at least, and maybe an NL event or two, depending on my BR and whether or not I could grab some backers, or win some satellites, etc. I'm not much of a tourney guy, but I've always done well in the LHE tournies, and have had some good results in some WCOOP events online, etc. At the very least, I'm looking at the LHE shootout, as I think I'd have a sick edge in that.

2008 is the year I really breakout in the poker world. This doesn't mean that I'm going to be famous or anything like that, but I'm certainly going to be able to fully justify not getting a real career with my results in 2008. Ship it!

6) Get into the Full Contact Hockey League

I don't follow the fchl stuff closely, but I'm pretty sure mdg has fallen off the face of the planet, so there's your opening. He sure hasn't hung around much at all since he got a girlfriend... which is quite hilarious

He still posts on the FCHL boards often enough for me to notice him. I did notice he stopped posting here though, lol.

Danny's still there. He seems to come and go in spurts, but overall, he's pretty active.

I miss the guy, even though he was rather strange. I'm pretty sure MisterB brought about the end of his tenure here.

lolz. stratG might me the all-around best poster on FCP. No offense to anyone else. Well, unless you take offence to being worse than jeff, in which case you should be offended.

In January 2008, she was still my girlfriend. Two months later, engaged. 6 months after, married. A little more than 3 years later, and she'll be delivering my son in the next 6 weeks.
