PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (8 handed) converter

CO (t5887)
Hero (t6655)
SB (t2620)
BB (t9955)
UTG (t11971)
UTG+1 (t10125)
MP1 (t9945)
MP2 (t8842)

Preflop: Hero is Button with [As], [Ks].
3 folds, MP2 calls t5030.

Flop: (t13410) [9c], [8d], [Qd] (2 players)

Turn: (t13410) [Js] (2 players)

River: (t13410) [Kc] (2 players)

Final Pot: t13410

Top 5 get seats - I'm currently 6th so I pushed and got called.

Other option was to call and see the flop. Table was tight since we were so close to the bubble. MP2 seemed like a solid player.

I prefer just calling here, especially since you have position. Usually at those blind levels, a 4xBB raise will push all but 1 or 2 people out. It's very likely that he's pushing with a midsized pocket pair unlesss he's generally a blind-stealer. Your raise may have been what pushed out the BB, but I doubt he would've called anyway. AK is a drawing hand. If you want to flip a coin for a seat, then go ahead and reraise all in. If you put him on KQ, KJ, or QJ, then it's probably a good raise. However, I'm thinking my read is correct that it's a middle pocket pair (possibly as high as 10's). With a drawing hand vs any pocket pair and you two likely heads up with you in position, just call and see what happens. If he misses with a mid-sized pocket pair, you'd be able to push him out of the pot as well.

Oops, left out the small blind. He's either going to call or fold regardless of whether or not you raise. His hand isn't really an issue here.

the raiser has as much of a chance of having AQ or AJ as a mid pp, so you're most likely either flipping or way ahead.

SB is shorter stacked then hero. This is the point that Tsk is trying to make (I think...)

That's true too, but I've seen way too much hard pushing with pocket pairs. You're flipping a coin to see if you'll be flipping a coin. It's definately best to call and see what he does on the flop.

you just call because this is a super satellite 5 of you are going on, you could argue for folding preflop to this raise, pushing in a coinflip is letting that short stack off the hook, make him earn his spot. Theres no reason to build chips right now, just survive
