So I got very robusto and am able to play the higher limits again, so I get some money online and play some 400NL. I've taken down the first 2 of 3 pots since I sat (didn't play the third) and am likely to be seen as very aggro, but obv. no one can make any real reads yet. So this hand comes up, and I want to know if I played this right. I really wasn't sure of playing slow would get me paid any more than playing fast and I wanted top pair, nut flush draw to pay to get there. Villain showed interest, so I played very fast.

I like the fastplay. I think most people assume flopped flushes will wait for the turn to bet or raise so he won't be putting you on that hand.

Not sure I love the shove though, yes you got called like you wanted but you could have very easily scared him completely out the hand and let him and his stack get away. Maybe a 3x re-raise is better?

Only hands that can call the shove are a set. AsAx, AsKx, maybe KxQs (but I doubt that) and the only other hand I can think that an aggresive opponent would open with and call a shove on this flop is QsTs and of course you're in great shape against all them bar the last.

Well, the biggest problem with your play is that it looks like you're protecting a big hand against the flush draw. That's fine in that it disguises your flush, but it also indicates that you have a pretty strong hand you're protecting. I think you're lucky he had a big enough hand to call (I would guess he had AA with or without the spade here).

The other thing is, I remember for our heads up match that you love to shove monsters. You need to mix in bluff-shoves if you're going to do that.

I do in HU, that was a big improvement on my game. In 6 max, new to the table, and new to pokerstars, I assume I don't need to mix in bluff-shoves yet. If I find myself being a regular vs regulars, yeah I'm gonna have to.

I think my biggest problem in shoving is that even if he has top pair with the ace, my hand looks like AA and if repeated it looks like I have a strong non-flush hand.

I'd say it LOOKS like you have the As with the push. But... if he did infact call you down with the As then I guess he knows you didn't have it. So.. to him if he has the As... maybe it looks like you have a set. Either way, no way he could put you on any high pair. He could put you on 22 or 88... with the flat call. People gamble with their A high four to a flush way too much. If that is what he had and didn't have a pair with it... he's playing for what... 80 somethin bucks, that would be a terrible call for him.

Naked A of spades(although I would hate that play), a set, a made flush..Anything else is terrible after he overbets the pot

Unless you have a very solid handle on your opponent and what he will bet and call with here, I really dislike the play because you lose value from so many hands and give him no choice but to call off 100BBs on a suited board and the range of hands that can actually call that bet is sooooooooooooooooooooo small that you'd probably be better off just making a ridiculous looking raise instead of the shove.

In rereading the HH, I guess he did overbet the pot, so this is a better spot for this. If he potted it to $35, I'd reraise to $160 or something silly like that. Since he overbet, I actually like the play quite a bit.

i think the play is fine

I tend to raise smaller tho as I can be pretty bluffy but this works as matt pointed out, villain overbet.

Results: Villain shows KQ, top pair, no draw at all (no spade in hand).
