Full Version: Something's Brewing In Atlanta...

Looks like Atlanta might be freeing up some roster and cap space for a trade, wondering if they might be a likely partner for whatever Anaheim is going to do to get Scotty Niedermayer back on the roster. Even with Recchi coming in, this still leaves Atlanta with an open spot on the roster.

I can't imagine that Haydar won't get picked up by somebody, so the Thrashers basically sacrificed him for whomever is on the way. Be interesting to see what happens, could be a huge deal in the works.

Beauchamin or Schneider maybe.

I don't really post in here, but I consider myself a pretty big Thrashers fan, and actually figured I'd take a shot that someone has any idea what's going on. I'm shocked by the fact that you guys pay enough attention to random, Southern market teams to've noticed this, too.

What's the best, most frequently updated place to watch for this stuff?

If you're looking for accuracy, gruven has the inside scoop on everything and will usually respond if you post. If you want something a little more timely, the altanta journal-constitution seems to have updated thrashers news:

http://www.ajc.com/thrashers/content/sport...hers/index.html

Their explanation doesn't make much sense as far as Haydar goes. They're either really, really dumb or there's a deal about to happen.

I get my hockey gospel from TSN.ca, they're usually the fastest to report on any done deals. For pure hockey discussion, I go to hfboards.com (Hockey's Future boards), there's a seperate board for fans of all 30 teams, plus Trade rumors, Prospects, etc.

Like Jeffstrat said, Gruven usually has the backchannel info, but he doesn't like looking like Eklund (www.hockeybuzz.com) so he generally doesn't say anything about the rumors flying around the NHL unless he's 90% that something will come of it.

I think Atlanta basically has to be wrangling for a forward, I'm just not sure if the trade will be small potatoes or if there's a blockbuster involving Hossa in the works.

Not sure what you mean by their explanation. I tried reading the article to figure it out, but saw nothing too wild/improbable.

Personally, I dont think anything major is about to happen. I dont see the co-relation between sending down Little and Haydar and an upcoming big move.
Maybe a D from Anaheim, I can see a real match there, but that was prevalent before the minor moves.

This whole tagging thing is another hinderance in player movements...

salary cap
No Trade clauses
"tagging"

I really miss the good old days of major trades....Its very hard to make "hockey trades" anymore..ie Heatley for Hossa....

I would think it's something minor. I don't understand why they scratched Haydar for like ten games straight and now waive him. He has some value, is what I'm saying... if that makes any sense.

Haydar is a strange one...He seems destined for the AHL...

I agree with this. I dont think Haydar has that much value. I could be wrong, but thats my thinking.

I think he goes unclaimed and plays in the AHL again.

I'd be happy if the blues claimed him. Their depth is garbage.

You couldn't possibly have less of a life than I. I just ration my time too poorly to keep up with interesting things. My evening last night, for instance, was spent alternately reading up on celeberity gossip and watching low-quality streaming porn. That very post, actually, was typed while I was leaning back in my chair, with a sweat sock stuck to my by-then-placid pecker -- as much with the adhesive cling of languor as with that of the semen. Some might think that whole story was creepy and unnecessary, but I contend, without reason or argument, that it was neither.

No, see the really retched stuff, like Pregnant Piss Porn and creepy Asian shit is generally what I stream with low bitrates, because I find it hilarious and a little hot, but don't wanna' keep it on my computer. For normal hardcore and innocuous stuff like that, I'm all about Cheggit.
