I'm still new to using PT for tracking my sessions, so I have a few basic questions in regards to bb/100 at lower limits.

What are reasonable-good win rates for the following limits, full ring and 6max.
  • .10/.25
  • .25/.50
  • .50/1.00

Over how many hands should I get a sample size from before moving up between each of these limits? Is that even worth worrying about if the BR can handle the next limit up?

Depends on how many tables you're playing.

I think around 4-7 PTbb/100 is good for 6-max, but I'm not sure what the best players could sustain

3 ptBB/100 is good for full ring. Twice that for 6-max. I'd say 15k for the sample. Bankroll is important at any level, but consider whatever amount you're OK to reload with as part of your effective bankroll.

sounds good. although anything in the positive is good.

i've always felt a winrate at $50NLHE could be as high as 3x what anyone has ever reported. i'd venture to guess that 16ptbb/100 could be maintained. of course, i've nothing to substantiate that, it's just what my gut tells me.

I'd say MUCH bigger. i had a 12ptbb/100 through 15K hands, and it evened out to about 6 through 60K hands.

Thanks guys.

In November I ran at about 6.5ptbb/100 over about 12k hands at full ring. I there were a few sessions were I didn't play my best though, so I didn't know how my numbers were compared to where they should be or how many hands I needed to get in for an accurate sample. I'll reevaluate at 20k hands and see how I am doing.

There's a lot of fuzz in how we choose to answer this. After 15k hands, your 12ptbb/100 says that it's very likely that you can beat this game in the long term. It doesn't tell us your theoretical winrate to any precision.
