Man that's pushing really slow.
I'm using Azureus on a crappy connection that usually doesn't get any more than 80kb/s but it was barely breaking into 2kb/s.

Mine's bouncing in the 50's and 60's.

I use Utorrent. It took awhile to get that fast though.

To me, 1994 was one of my best music years. Maybe it was just the experiences I had at the time, but those songs bring me back ya know?

Granted, there is a lot in that group of songs that I don't listen to, but it couldn't hurt to have them.

Oh, I understand. You never know when having a song by Amy Grant or Bryan Adams could come in handy.

Honestly, I think I could pick out about 20 songs off that list worth listening too. You know UTorrent lets you edit before you d/l right?

Pretty well established that the personal profundity of music- be it a particular song or a particular genere- is directly connected to the life experiences that occurred while that particular song/style was frequently heard. The musical style from the fondest periods of your life will always be most profound to you for reasons having nothing to do with the music itself.

It's certain that John Travolta prefers the disco to hair bands.

Ok, I tried to do that... but it sorts it by song name, and I dunno every song name, and it just seems like too much work.

Ick.. They actually batted up to .500 in some of their multi-song artists.. But that's hardly a good showing for the Violent Femmes, Jane's Addiction, GNR, Tool, etc..

Big Ups for throwing Catherine Wheel and MC 900 FT Jesus in there though, I thought I was the only living human being with either of those on .mp3.

And "Every Heartbeat" is a much better Amy Grant song than "Baby Baby". "Listen to Your Heart" and "Fading Like a Flower" need to be on there for Roxette. And no Wilson Phillips? Jesus...

Well, I guarantee you a DJ put that list together. I'm speaking from experience.. I got over 250k original songs from 1950-2007, and let me tell you.. It's badass, but it's also "thorough" from 1984-2007..

You can't have quality and quantity together, it's impossible. And I guarantee you your 100 "badass song" lists varies significantly from the next guy, you can never fully guard for/against taste.

It's far more important to "have it" when someone asks. I've had to play "It's not Unusual" and "Sweet Caroline" for a stage set before.. And I did it with confidence, knowing I had the best possibly copies available to me on both...

Not to mention it's far easier to take a "lukewarm thousand" and make you "badass 100" out of it for your .mp3 cd, and then claim your a genius, so it's a win-win either way.

Definitely some songs in there that I don't even know wtf they're thinking, but also missing some songs I think should be there.

But it'll fill in some spots that i'm missing without having to sit around and think about specific songs. It's tough trying to think of every song you want.

I need a solid mix of the freestyle music from the time. It was prevalent, but it's not that easy to find still.

Well, there is certainly a sense of pride involved, especially if you do it for a living. But if you are just looking for home use, that's a great starting block to move out of the gates with.
