Full Version: Flopped Trips In 8.80 180

This is an 8.80 180 on FTP..No real reads but I've seen the SB make a standard raise with AA preflop, then call down a min bet, 2xbb, 2xbb, on a q10xqK board..He was prolly slowplaying on the flop and the queen froze him on the turn...

Now are you raising here with trips or flat calling? There are no real draws to worry about besides an Ace catching up..What disguises the strength of our hand better? If you do raise, how much?

I raise to 900 and call a push.

However, considering it was a limped pot and then the minraiser leads out w/ 240... he could easily have AJ-AK... and we should try to string him along. Same with the cold-caller. Maybe a smaller raise is in order to entice them to stick around as we take them to value-town on the turn/river.

I just call behind, and probably raise the turn if there is decent action in front again.

I smooth call, then possibly min raise his turn bet, unless he checks. By the river, bet about 500-700

I'd make a small raise, i think it's the best way to build a big pot.

Call, then stick in the raise if/when both players fire another barrel

Min raising is for teh gay!

Flat calling the flop bet sets off warning bells to any remotely good player. Raise the flop!!!!!!! And don't min raise the flop either!!!

I think smooth calling this could be a bad move. Any half decent player would see right through this and you'd lose alot of possible profit. I reckon you should raise the flop here. Smooth call the turn if he raises, and raise the river. I'm a firm beliver in slow playing the turn when I hit a monster on the flop, but I would raise the turn if he didnt give me action.

As usuall,I could be wrong.

You don't want to slow play here. Giving free cards against more than one player is a bad idea. Raise.

I'm not a huge fan of the limp behind preflop, I don't think it's very -ev, but I'd be surprised if it was +ev with that many people behind. As played, it's an 8.80 so you can pretty comfortably raise here knowing that nobody is likely folding a decent ace.
